Personally, I'm not putting the front plate on and prepared to deal with the consequences.....
As far as the Topflight option, although it looks a hell of a lot better than the OEM plate mount, I think it makes the car look a lot like Bugs Bunny... Only thing missing is big ol' floppy ears...
I just bit the bullet and got the front license plate mounting bracket from Top Flight Reproductions. I also got the body colored frame which makes it look a little bit better.
Don
This is what I did. Ordered the bracket and color matching frame for front and back. Much better looking than the OEM mount.
Down here in South Texas, instead of putting it on the dash(Only the red necks do that) put it on the sun visor with a couple of rubber bands & when you see the law pull down your sun visor so he can see it.Last year i took a trip to Ca.& Oregon & i never got pulled over for no plate on the front & my sister in-law is a CHP in Ca.& she told me not to worry about the plate issue before i left for my long ride to Ca.Those after market mounts are to much $$$$$$$$ not worth it.

Police in other states won't pull you over for no front plate because they can only write a ticket for enforcement of their own state laws...your car itself is only covered by Texas laws if it is registered in Texas.

I have one of the mounting brackets from NCM which puts it under the front without drilling holes in body. Hard to see but it's there. Don't know if it's legal, but it's there. Good luck and enjoy the ride.
I put the plate on because they were looking for anything to write you up for. Seems like they slowed down now. I don't notice the plate after having it for a month or two.
Me either. I put one on in the beginning with color matched frames and they look fine. I don't think it is a big deal.
This seems like a good idea. Do you have any pix of it up & down.
Is it difficult to install? Where did you get it?
Show car license plate......ZIP products and I got it on sale. They do have another version which is a manual version and at that time it was like $49.95. The remote was $159 but I got it on sale for $139.
I believe Eckler's and Mid America may have both models.
Difficult to install? I had Speed Lingerie install it for me so I paid 2 hours labor. I had to have it specially mounted because I didn't want to drill holes into a $600+ custom front end bra. So other brands wouldn't work.
If you are mechanically inclined it would probably be not that difficult to install. Wiring to battery to unit and mounting of unit and license plate bracket.

Get pulled over... hit the button and the plate appears.
.... I leave mine off, when I get pulled over – “oops, just finished detailing it and forgot to put the plate back, if you give me 30 seconds I will have it back on”- works every time.
Very good idea - I have one and it never even occurred to me ....
I got a ticket while parked on the street. I purchased the Top Flight plate and had to go to the CHP and get signed off by an officer. I also paid a small fine. Since I need to park on the street for work I left the plate on the car. At first it bothered me but I got used to it. Same thing happened to my wife in her SLK 350 but we got out of the ticket because the car was parked in our private driveway when ticketed. I couldn't believe it when I got home and there was a ticket on her windshield and the car had not been driven in a few days.
I have a suggestion - invest in a removable front plate mount from “Top Flight”. I love mine – worth every penny – on/off in seconds – can’t see anything there when it’s off. I leave mine off, when I get pulled over – “oops, just finished detailing it and forgot to put the plate back, if you give me 30 seconds I will have it back on”- works every time.
Oh, and by the way, Top Flight is a Corvette Forum vendor.
