Here in Southern California, I drive the 110, and 105 daily, and ocassional trips into Orange County... I have found that the Prius, bimmer and mini van drivers are the most agressive and hostile towards me, and for no reason. As far as tailgating and trying to push me out of my lane, the prius drivers are the worst...
That is because they are jealous driving a little crappy four banger that gets a little better gas mileage than our Vettes.
I think it happens to most all of us on occasion. Just ignore them if at all possible...avoid any dangerous situations. It's similar to when people speed-up or do whatever to get in front of a slow moving truck. In the case of the Corvette I think it boosts some people's ego to get in front of a (probably) faster car. Try driving around with a license plate that says "2 QWIK"...I sometimes get guys that want to find out if its true.

Put some guys in a pickup truck with a big motor and they think they can dart around like driving one of those little four cylinder skateboards. They are the type that pull up as close as possible at the stoplight. Sometimes its hard not to ignore the grill in the rear view mirror. They make it seem like all truck drivers are jerks, but they aren't.
I drive as I would without them there, just like when the SUV decides to take off and beat me off the line. Good bye. I'll save the power for when I want to apply it and when it is no threat to anyone else.
Very timely thread, even though I don't drive a C6 in my lowly 77 I get hollored at by the aging hippies who insist I am 'drag racing' or driving aggresively, when in fact I am driving slower than in my wife's car.
It happened again today, Subaru Forester driver cut out in front of me from a drive way and then jams on the brakes repeatedly while doing some strange flailing hand gesture. At the next intersection grandma hippie yells over "we have kids in this neighborhood".
Yep. I get the same thing with the Vet and on the Harley it lets me know at least they ar aware of me,insead of running me over, does ppp me off some times.Orlando tourest mecca
Not just a New England problem. I am in Wisconsin and about 10% of the other traffic on the roadways want to try and race, tail gate, pass and then slow down, and anything else they can think of to **** you off.
I will say that my new Blade Silver GS gets half the attention or less than my Velocity Yellow C6 coupe or the previous Torch Red C5 coupe. Those colors were like a red flag to a bull. I suppose it goes to mental ability of those who go nuts over a vette; they are in line with a dumb bull.
The silver was a good choice to me; I am so sick of these jerks on the road.
I have silver as well and haven't run into any of this.

Had a chick in a small something, no idea what the car was.... one of the new micro cars from Ford or Kia who was really giving me the non-sense on a two lane 55 mph highway the other night. Her headlights right in my mirror, swerving around side to side, backing off then running up on me fast. I just pulled onto the breakdown lane and got her in front of me then put the super brights on her. She didn't seem to appreciate it.
911 is your friend. If I saw that type of erratic behavior, I'd be on the phone to 911 as soon as possible.
Women is SUV are ridiculous. It's even worse if they start tailing and then making the attempts to pass you when you know they'll never make it when the pass the other cars out in front...
Then, you get the ones that drive pretty slow and get mad when you try to pass. To make it worse, they sometimes try to speed up to keep you from passing them.
I have a velocity yellow - and I don't **** around!
If their tailing me or trying to race me.. I will polietly move ova to the side - let them come up and then show them why I drive a Vette and why their driving a Civic - seriously.. not even worth another thought - just like their ungreatful lifes.
"I feel pitty on the mother that brought them into this world!"
Living in FL for the last 23 years I can tell you the drivers here are the WORST. Teens, soccer moms on cellphones, bluehairs in the left lane, rednecks in lifted trucks etc. etc. they all suck. Even the cops drive crappy; no signal lights, speeding for no reason. Every drive is an adventure, especially on the Harley.
The worst offenders are women in minivans/SUVs when pulling away from a stoplight. I granny shift my car usually and these insane women in their torquey V6 slushboxes are almost ALWAYS right on my *** as I am getting ready to shift into 2nd or 4th.
I'm continually amazed at how people drive....accelerating hard and then slamming on the brakes at every light. No wonder these people go through fuel like water.

Seems like, to me, anytime your driving something that's unique, (Vette, Harley, etc.) your always gonna get a lot of folks that want to push your buttons. I also believe it's 10X worse with the Harley.
Some days it's a pure delight, other days it's a nightmare.
It appears that you live in California where there is no concealed carry allowed, and the politicians led me to believe that no legal guns meant there would be no danger for the law abiding people. Or is there something wrong in that logic?
The aggressive behavior could occur anywhere. In Missouri, we would be allowed to defend our life against what we believe is a threat upon our life. Can't cross into Illinois though. They are a lot like California. Self-protection is bad there too.
Sorry. I'm off topic.
Nope, its on topic.
Thank goodness for Pennsylvania"s Conceal and Carry laws.
The opposite here for me....in N.VA and Mid area VA... in fact, I have commented several times to my wife how refreshing it is that people give a lot of space when behind this car.. even when stopping... way more than any previous perf car I have had in many years.. including our 97 Comp TA (very rare), 97 Firehawk, 2005 GTO........and 2008 Solstice GXP. I love the respect this car gets.
I have noticed in northern Va vette's ,porshes and everykind of sports and high dollar cars are running everywhere.A corvette does not even get a second look there.

and when they get to a turn they roll it. That's why we have more roll overs today than ever.

I think it's the driver that is souped up. Some of these people in these little cars are fast off the line. Put them in any car same result. I certainly wouldn't treat my car like that unless I didn't care about it or expensive maintenance bills.
