IMO, The problem is that GM has Sold a 50k+ Sports car and they left out certain up grades that you can get from a Cheaper Car. They should have put Brembo Brakes on the thing and made the seats out of real leather... I have the Caliper covers and seat covers on mine and I have them painted also but it doesnt change the fact that when i am parked next to a Charger SRT8 and they have these Great looking Brembo breaks and then I get into My Ford F150 and the Seats are real leather with 2 tone inserts? Oh but have a look at my nicley painted Cavalier calipers with my sweet Cobalt steering wheel....really!!! I love GM but sometimes they confuse me

you have caliper covers and you painted them? This is knucking futs, considering they are there for people who are not up to spending a couple of hours with a brush... And the seats should be covered with alcantra, not leather in the first place, beats the slippery feel of leather and is considerably more durable.

Maybe it was able to ONLY cost 50k because they left out certain upgrades. For the average owner who only drives the car on sunny Saturdays with a 10% or less chance of rain and averages less than 1,000 per year the factory brakes are well more than adequate. Frankly, they stop better than 90% of cars on the road in stock trim.
When I purchased my Corvette it had them on the car. I told them that if they are on the car when I come to pick it up - it will be a deal breaker. I personally don't like them. But some people do and it is your car.
I did go with a bbk after however.
Okay, now these covers are W-A-Y different than the MGP ones, these look realistic and don't have the lame nut thingees, as these nuts are real, and we like real nuts. These are "Thrash-approved" and look fantastic, hope they come in yella ...

That's cause they are not covers. It is a real Big Brake Kit (BBK) made by StopTech. These are the actual calipers in the photo, not covers on the caliper.

Stock calipers are UGLY even if you paint them! Unless you have a Z06 or GS, the calipers are too small and look like crap!. That's my opinion of course. Sure you can spend 1000 plus dollars and get big brakes or do like me and spend a small amount of money and just put on covers. Some like them some don't! I have had mine on for years and no over heating of the brakes, less dust and they cover the ugly calipers! So for me, I like them. As for the haters, look under your hood, many of you have "covers" on your fuel rails, and many other parts that are ugly from the factory. what's the difference??? Give me a "brake" no pun intended..., they are nothing but covers to cover an ugly stock part!
