Sitting here at the dealership. They actually ordered the console. However, they say it doesn't fit this car because the gray console had sides to it and this one doesn't. It just looks to me like they didn't order the leather-ish side piece. They are arguing that it was an early 2008 and there must have been a trim change later in the year. They say it came from the factory this way. I don't understand why I have the only 2008 in the world with a gray console.
They are also saying carbon fiber came on the upgraded versions, not the standard coupe. GM Brand Quality Manager, the brochure, Corvette Museum, and all of you say carbon fiber. It's a good thing I don't have high blood pressure.
They ordered the top part of the console. It is a 2-piece part tell them to do their research. All 2008 came with it.
Oh I did. They're "looking into it". It's just seems so obvious to me I don't understand why they keep fighting this so hard. Is it possible that early 08's had the older console, because that is their stance.
Here ya' go, here's the 2008 Corvette Sales Brochure in a PDF format that you can email if you need to from Chevrolet stating and confirming the standard console. See Page 14 in the top right hand corner. (Click on the link above)
Let us know how it goes.
ALL 2008's CAME WITH THE CYBER PATTERN CONSOLES - NONE HAD SILVER CONSOLES.
PROOF IS IN CHEVROLET's OWN "HANDWRITING" ON PAGE 14 IN THE 2008 SALES BROCHURE.
TELL THEM TO ORDER THE SIDES SO YOU CAN BE DONE WITH THEM AND GIVE THEM A GREAT REVIEW AND BE DONE WITH THIS NIGHTMARE.
Have you got GM customer service involved? Make a quick call while you are at the dealer. Tell them your vin and ask what type of console. Have them speak to or fax a copy to the dealer.
BTW Never use that dealer again- The will be putting C5 parts on your C6 next time.
By the way, none of the 2008's, not even the "early" 2008's, came with a LS2 motor, none came with the previous T56 transmissions, none came with the silver painted star shape wheels, etc, etc, etc...
Why? Because ALL those items, INCLUDING THE NEW CONSOLE, were changed to the new features of the the 2008's.
...just a "FYI" in case you get your car back with a LS2 motor or some other nonsense from this dealer. LOL
Oh, GM has been involved for awhile. This has been "elevated" to a district rep who said I had to prove to the dealership that I was right. I have an email from the Brand Quality Manager that was forwarded to the service manager that says I am right (but he says he can't help with dealership issues).
I told the the service manager "your own company" says i am right, and he said "that's the car manufacturer, not my company".
If I can get them to install the top and side panels, where can I get the other pieces - silver trim around cup holders for example? If I can get the main pieces, I'm done and just want to get out of here. 4 hours so far.

Contact the BBB While you are there. Explain the situation. I think at this point - I would spend the $400-$500 on the new part and blast the Crap dealer with bad press.

I don't understand what these idiots are ordering...When the hype of all these console conversions were going on starting in June of 2007,when the 2008 my came out,the forum parts dealers where selling 1 part number with the complete console section including astray door and chrome cup holder rings????Check with the man himself Gene Culley at Gmpartshouse, maybe he can hook you up with the part number for the entire console and hand it to the dumb *** dealer on a silver platter.
Good luck with this know nothing about Corvettes dealership!!!

Here's Gene Culley's phone number, 484-949-2099 - he might give you the parts numbers.
The dealership you are at now will be able to show you the all the part numbers if they have a parts dept. You might want to go over there and see if you can get some help from the parts manager.
Black carbon fiber with leather trim – 1LT/2LT/3LT
Heated Seats / F55 – [08shf55] – $812.41
Heated Seats / No F55 - [08shnf] – $622.53
No Heated Seats / F55 - [08nhf55] – $512.12
No Heated Seats / No F55 - [08nhnf] – $526.54
These are the part numbers at Gene Culleys site as you will see they are not gm part numbers but it is 1 part!! I believe this is the one you need...... Heated Seats / No F55 - [08shnf] – $622.53
Heated Seats with no F55 = 20807154 = $589.85
Heated Seats With F55 = 25972645 = $756.44
No Heated Seats No F55 = 25972656 = $489.05
With F55 no Heated Seats = 15939772 = $465.50
Your dealership can order the individual parts less expensively ordering only the parts they need, but would certainly be MUCH easier and less room for error not getting all the parts or the correct parts by ordering the assembly as sold by Parts Taxi or Gene Culley.
I will have to agree with most of the folks on the forum, I have a 2008 and it does have the carbon fiber - your pics indicate a difference. Hopefully you can re-cont with the Chevy Sales Rep or go by the local Chevy Dealer and see when a sales rep. will be at their location. Good luck.
If you see anything that's still not right, please let me know.
They found the faux leather piece at a dealership down the street. The service manager contended right up to the end that the vehicle must have come from the factory this way - early model, ordered that way, etc. He still does not believe it was switched.
Thank you all so much. I would never have prevailed without you.
BTW - The "carbon fiber" tombstone piece that started all this - someone had taken it out and covered it with "carbon fiber" tape. If they hadn't, I may not have found out I had an older console until it was too late.
