Here is a picture of the *****

This is a closer picture of the volume control

Sorry about the poor quality. I was going to wait until tomorrow, but I wanted to put these up before the GM rep called tomorrow. I hope you're not going to tell me all this was replaced also.

You can see that the volume control **** is very different from the other picture. The climate control ***** have a rubbery front to them, not glossy like in the pictures above.

I am doing all I can to get them to live up to the CPO requirements. In hindsight, I would've learned what to look for. That's what I get for trusting people to do what they are supposed to.

Ok, so the cluster shroud is not the rings around the instruments themselves? Those are silver. The areas around the HUD controls to the left of the steering wheel and the panel selections (settings, trip, etc) to the right of the steering wheel are black. They just look silver because of the glare.

As far as I know, this vehicle does not have select suspension control.

Had I bough this car from a dealer who certified it I would have them replace the center console with a 2008 console. As politely as possible I would take it to them and have them replace it. Certified means certified. There is no excuse they could provide me to do anything other than replace it. Stand firm and have them do it.

I got a call from the GM rep Friday. He left a message and said that the dealership has agreed to "make everything right". I haven't heard from the dealership yet and I can't talk to the Rep until Monday to make sure exactly what that means. I appreciate everyone's help and I'll let you know what happens.

The GM District Rep called and told me the dealership will install whatever console is supposed to be in the car based on the VIN. How can I find out what that is so I am prepared when I go to have it installed? I want to make sure they are putting in the correct console.

That is great news, congrats. go to post #22 on here, there is a good picture of what the 08 should look like. I believe they have slightly different variations based on the trim level ( 1lt, 2lt, etc..) but they are all faux carbon fiber. Please post some pics when its all done, very happy it worked out for you.

The console pictured in the first post of this thread is what I have in my 08 3LT. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...ne-culley.html

Look in the glove box for the sticker with all the option codes for that vehicle to see if it came with the F55 suspension.

I went back and looked at the pictures in this thread. One console looks like the carbon fiber wraps around the side, another looks like it has leather trim on the side. Would the leather trim be from a 4LT? I think mine is a 3LT.

Thanks for the tip about the sticker in the glove box. I'll check that today.

I am not quite as optomistic as Gerdia. I'll believe it when I see it.

The photo in post #22 of this thread (which I took - it is of my car) is the factory bezel that GM began using in the 2008 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT models. The one used in 4LTs was the same except that the color was more of a dark gray (vs. black) and the design pattern looked more like dots than faux carbon fiber. All versions came with faux leather ("pleather") trim around the edges, just as seen in the photo. BTW, my bezel as shown in the photo actually has genuine stitched leather in place of the pleather; I had it modified by DS Vettes. I didn't bother mentioning it in post #22 because in the photo it looks virtually identical to the way it comes from the factory with the pleather. You have to see and touch it in person to notice the difference. As for the bezels that are all CF or faux CF with no trim, they are aftermarket parts that, while you may like their appearance, do not match the factory bezel. I personally much prefer the leather-trimmed look (as from the factory) which is why I went that route.

Just talked to the service department at the dealership. I was told all the parts were in. When I pressed him on the console, he said he knew nothing about it. Hopefully it's just a miscommunication. However, when I called the GM Rep, he said something new. He mentioned again that the service manager said he would put in the "appropriate" console for this vehicle. He then suggested that this might be the correct console because of mid-year changes. So I need to know, did all 2008's have the carbon fiber console or is it possible that this console was put in before the change?

ALL 2008's HAD THE NEW CONSOLE, THERE WERE NO MID YEAR, EARLY YEAR, OR LATE YEAR CHANGES WITH THE CONSOLE.

Can Bowling Green help here? the NCM has this info on the 08 model.

http://www.corvettemuseum.org/specs/2008/index.shtml

They call the interior cyber pattern, if I'm reading it correctly.

Latest update. Just got a call from Ralph, the GM Rep. He said the dealership has ordered the console LID according to the VIN. I am supposed to drive out there (130 miles roundtrip) and see if the lid fits. If it does, then this is proof that the correct console is in this vehicle. If it doesn't, then they will order a new console.

Did the lids change? Will this lid fit on an old console? Will this prove anything?

The lids did not change- the console changed in 2008
