99.9% of the driving public thinks taking up more than one public parking spots is rude, selfish and arrogant. If that's the message you want to send then go for it. BTW - This is not just a corvette thing.
Heck everyone should park like this and that way we could simply eliminate the lines all together.
I take up multiple spots because I'm morbidly obese and I need to swing my door all the way open. Did anyone consider special needs, rather than jump to THEIR own conclusion that someone is a jerk?
Did you think that another option would be to park in a end spot or handicap? Is this seriously your issue or are you trying to find a legit argument to explain this behavior?
Not a completely relevant image, but I parked out in the middle of nowhere last week (1 space mind you) and some guy decided to park his dented up camaro right next to mine. I chuckled at first...until I saw that he parked his driver's side right up near me, leaving very little room for him to get out. Had to look a few times to make sure there wasn't any white paint on my door.

That's exactly what I am talking about. Some smart a$$e$ just love to look for trouble. This guy wouldn't have left the parking lot without problems if that were my Corvette.

Yeah...it certainly crossed my mind. If a) I had time to kill, or b) there had been a speck of damage I would've gladly waited for him to come out.

I don't necessarily assume the worse, here's why. I used to park remotely, and I've had several people park next to mine, and they've told me that they have a nice car too, and that they wanted to protect it.
I'm probably bringing myself all kinds of bad luck by saying this, but no door dings or scratches in 4 years of parking my vettes like every other vehicle I own.
People who park in 2 or more parking spaces demonstrate a smug sense of entitlement....they're arrogant and inconsiderate! I can understand trying to park with a little common sense to minimize possible damage but that doesn't entitle you to take-up someone else's parking space.

That's a whole 'nother hot topic. I know where you're coming from but not all 'handicaps' are readily visible. Those with congestive heart failure may make a short walk just fine but a longer walk might leave them gasping. That said I'll guess the majority of those legally parking in a handicapped space don't really need to...it's more for convenience. It p1sses me off to see someone park in a handicapped parking space and sprint into the store while the quadraplegic Veteran is forced to unload his wheelchair out in the north 40 because all the handicapped spaces are filled.

If you need a freight loading zone to get in and out of your car get a handicapped parking permit and park in a handicapped parking space! Your "special need" still doesn't entitle you to park in multipe parking spaces to the detriment of others. Do it the 'right' way.

No, you can't be just a little bit pregnant....it's either right or wrong! Whether you park in 2 spaces or 4 it's still wrong! If you have a physical 'need' to park in more than one space get a handicapped parking permit.

If it were a nice car, I could see that. Maybe even some sort of "Chevy thing" if he had parked straight in his lane. This car was pretty beat up though.

That schmuck is almost over the line on your side! In an empty parking lot . . . What a moron.

I remember after I got divorced back in the early 80s, I saved up enough money to buy a badly needed pickup truck that was used. It was a 1976 and I was really proud of it. It had a few small rusted areas and when I saved up a little more money, I took it to a body shop to have the two corners on the bottom rear of the cab repaired. After a few days I got it back and was really happy with the job the guy did. I drove it to my girlfriend's apartment to show her. It wasn't parked there 30 minutes, when the people next door came back home and the woman got out of her car and slammed the door into my truck and put a big dent right in the spot that I had just had fixed. I sat right in the window and saw her do it. I went out and told her what she did and she didn't give a crap. Then she went into her apartment and I could hear her say, loudly, "Can you imagine that guy complaining about a little dent in his truck?" I was sick. That dent was in there 14 years later when I got rid of the truck. And that isn't the last time my vehicles have been damaged. But it was the last time I let someone get away with intentionally damaging my cars.
I have a buddy with a Z06 that takes two parking places. I've tried to convince him that he's opening himself up for being "keyed" but he continues the same habit.
Oh well, it's enough to manage my own behaviors much less my friends!
Saw a beautiful car today in a local parking lot. 10 minutes after I took this picture, there were cars parked on one side and in front of him and the lot was getting more traffic.
Why would anyone think that they should take 4 spots in a parking lot. No wonder people hate Corvette owners (not Corvettes)
Oh yeah, Vette owners don't have to put on front plates.......
Was probably lucky that someone didn't key the car.
This just gives "a-holes" probable cause......(in their minds)
The car in the background is a perfect example of how I park. Protected on one side and the car pulled as close as I can get to the curb. Taking up more than one spot is just plain ignorant.

i only see one car remotely nearby. he could have parked sideways and not effected anybody. i've seen porsche guys do the same thing.
