I really wish I'd have taken her bra off for this picture (If I had a dollar for everytime I've said that)

I don't know about this.

You know, they also made kits in the 60's to modernize your '63 Corvette which took out that nasty center pillar in the rear window.

From the title of your thread, I was afraid to look at the result, but I must say it looks great. I hope you sell a bunch of them.

Molding production has begun. Should have more details before the end of the month! Working on production of nice bolt on headlight mounts so there's no welding required. Also looks like I may have the headlight plug-and-play harness issue figured out. If any of you have access to the plugs/harnesses let me know - I'll make sure it's worth your while.

And without getting into details, our fabricator and I discussed lots of options yesterday and it looks like this kit will, at least initially, be an add-in kit that will use your factory fenders and bumper. This will give the same outcome with OEM fit on everything and the cost will be untouchable in value. The templates will make the install easy and a few hours of bodywork before paint will be MUCH cheaper than the cost of new fenders and bumper. I also am not a big fan of non-urethane non-OEM bumpers. In the decades of car building experience we have it is very VERY rare to find parts that rival OEM and hold up to the test of time. When you do find them they are usually out of the price-range most would or could pay.

I'm pretty excited about the new plan. It's going to allow a lot more guys to be able to afford this conversion. Just selling your factory headlights will cover a nice percentage of the kit! I'll add some info to the website soon. I'm shooting for January pre-order special pricing and to have the kits start shipping in Feb.

Again, if you have a connection with harness plugs (no pun intended) please let me know!

Personally, for the guys like me who love the C6 but also love the new headlights it's a relatively inexpensive way to update your car to look like the new style Vette to 90%+ of the non-Vette owners out there. I picked up the headlights for a grand but I've seen them occasionally for about $650-850 a pair. To most of the Vette guys it's kinda cool too. I considered putting the C7 side markers in and changing the lower bumper to more of a C7 look but I decided against it for two reasons. One was I wanted it to look like a custom C6 and two I love my fog lights with HIDs for dark country roads at night.

Will post more pics soon. Probably primer tomorrow and then let the bumper and fenders bake in the sun for a couple days before paint.
I'd say you knocked it out of the park on this one. The headlights are the only feature I don't like about my 2011. They are so hazy on the inside of the lens...it's embarrassing. Is this mod something that can be done to a base C6?

Thanks. The initial kit will be for the widebody cars... however once these get done I'll go ahead and see about doing the non-widebody. I'm almost certain it would be only a minor adjustment to the fender pieces but I need to actually do one to make sure it will indeed fit. I have some side-by-side comparisons and it looks like it might work. Once the widebody C67 kit is going I'll jump right on the non-widebody and see what I can figure out.

Love the new idea of sticking with the OEM fenders and bumper Crazy Cowboy! Fiberglass never fits like OEM. Excited to see this kit come out.

Just curious. So does this mean that the end user will need to make his/her own modifications to their own bumper and fenders to get the C7 headlights to fit using your 'templates'?

All the details will be explained as the kit becomes available in production form. It will require everything you need to integrate the headlights into your car by replacing the area of your C6 headlight hole by cutting it out and putting the C67 fender and bumper sections in place. The end-user will need a paint and body shop regardless if you had the entire bumper and fenders or the headlight intergration panels. Having built dozens of cars I can tell you from experience that there are many benefits of using OEM. Most aftermarket fiberglass will shrink and expand over the first year or two which will leave your bumper and fenders looking horrible, needing to be repainted. Aftermarket mounting hardware usually doesn't fit or at least not properly. You have to fit an entire new bumper and fenders to your hood and doors which usually take hours or days of bodywork to get the fitment and gaps and lines right before you do multiple coats of primering and blocking to get it flat. With the kit I'm going to offer it will require basically removing your C6 headlight, putting the bumper and fenders back on (takes minutes to pop them back on without bolts), lay the included template over the fender and bumper on each side to mark your hole... then cut the hole. The panels will fit the holes to be body-worked into place and prepped for paint. Regardless of which way you went you're going to have to do paint and body work. This method will require very little bodywork since you'd be using the OEM bumper and fender. Before painting you'd test your C7 headlights for fit and function using our included mounting brackets and harnesses. At this poiint you'll probably admire your car and how cool it looks before pulling the fenders and bumpers off to paint them. Next day you wetsand and buff and carefully reinstall the parts. Now that's awesome.

I have no doubt this kit will not be for everyone. Modification is not for everyone. Based on my history as a Corvette vendor for over a decade with over ten thousand customers, as well as the people who have seen this car in person, I've got enough guys who have committed to buying already that it will happen. I'm confident this will be the best looking, highest selling, and by far the lowest priced conversion for the C6 available. Keep you guys posted! Happy Holidays!

I love how this turned out. If I was going to do the mod on a base model, but upgrading to a wide body at the same time, would the kit fit correctly, or are there other concerns?

Generally, I'm against putting any C7 parts on a C6 but I have to admit, this facelift is exactly what the C6 never knew it needed.

Any plans to do an install in your shop?
That would look great on my 06 Vert.

Very possible on the install. Are the 427 GS steel or aluminum frame? Just something I wasn't thinking of before. Prob won't effect anything but I know the Z06 frame is aluminum and thicker which could effect the brackets

I will give you a shout when I get closer to availability.

Subscribing in case I pick up a C6 Grand Sport. Totalled my Z06 last month by hitting a deer so now i'm torn between a GS or a C7.
