not sure if they are compatible, but I had one lying around and I had an aftermarket radio with a screen, I hooked it up, it was very easy, works great, but for some reason I still never look at the screen when reversing lol

I use a wi-fi back up camera that I can view on my cell phone. Easy install, good picture. Can even leave it on while driving down the road. Between dash cam and rearview cam there is hardly time to watch the road.
I know, first rule of Italian racing. What's behind me is not important.

Backup camera question
I purchased this unit for my 2005 and a license plate camera and it works perfectly in my original Nav radio. You can find a zillion posts on here for these units both pro and con but I really like it and you can keep your original Nav radio. It is not hard to install if you have a little electrical ability or know someone who does and requires no soldering. It basically fits inline with the existing system using the existing ribbon cables. There is no change to the operation of the original system. I paid about $200 which is a deal in my book. I will be more than happy to answer any questions you might have but I recommend it highly.

Wi-Fi camera is a 4UCam. Go to 4UCam.com
Dash camera is a Cobra CDR 825E
Get a 32 gig SD card for the dash cam (comes with a four gig), format the SD card and it will record 10 hours video before being full. If you don't need the video you can reformat the card in the camera and keep on recording.

Very cool Concept, can you please give me a writeup on how you did this. Thanks
Unfortunately, the GM Nav Radio does not have any video inputs for a BU camera. There was LockPic 360 that was once available as a harness to add a video feed, but it was not that popular, so it got canned. Every once in awhile you see one on the FS section of this forum.
I got a cheap camera, and added a monitor inside the sunvisor where the vanity mirror used to sit. It's out of sight, looks OEM, and is easily accessible when needed.
The Homelink for the garage door opener still works on the sunvisor.
