You're right.... It does help..... And you don't need to be an "engineer" to know it....

Sometimes the smarter people "think" they are.... the harder it is for them to see what's really happening.

Your foot CAN NOT do what the CoW BOOSTER! can do.....

The other point is that the CoW BOOSTER! is NOT a throttle control "device" or "fooler" like the others.

If you got it... you know what it does.

If you're an "engineer" then you'll appreciate (or should appreciate) why ALL competitors products are risky

and unsafe.

If you're one of the many people who has a "plug in" throttle controller that has "needed to be re-calibrated" or caused

no start or engine "REP" (reduced engine power), or random engine shutdown, or a device that just simply needed to

be replaced.....then you know what I'm referring to.

If you've seen evidence of "unexpected engine shutdown" on THIS and/or the CAMARO forums.... EVEN JUST ONE SINGLE INSTANCE....

then that should be enough to convince any engineer that adding cheap Chinese connectors, sub grade wiring, circuit boards that power LEDs,

and additionally fake or substitute actual pedal position data before it goes to the ECM, your engineering degree should tell you that those

products are trash. A 1% failure rate... which they have easily exceeded. should convince most people of average intelligence that, those products

are not at all safe.

GM spent BIG money to guarantee that the throttle blade of any LS or LT engine is EXACTLY where the computer expects it to be AT ALL TIMES

without exception, as the consequence ( if it's not where it thinks it is) is not just simply "reduced engine power" or "unintended engine acceleration"....

The consequence could easily be FATAL....So, the 1,000% safety margin (failsafe) action is to enter "reduced engine power" and shut the car down

should there be a problem with the throttle system.

Introducing cheaply made "faker devices" into a purpose built VERY tightly engineered calibrated system....IS JUST PLAIN STUPID.....

And you engineers..... should know this.

The CoW BOOSTER! is NOT like other throttle devices and FAKES NOTHING and has NEVER, NEVER messed up....Ever.

Some electrical engineer.... Please state your credentials and lay your license on the line here.....

And tell us that you would put your stamp on something like that, which already has shown a considerable failure history......

Oh, and if you fell for the "our engineers here in the USA DESIGNED AND BUILT this product"....shame on you.....

For anyone interested, please e-mail me and I'll send you some screen shots of the website in China that sells them for $1. each

if you buy 50 or more..... and the'll put YOUR name on the device if you buy a few of them.

Again, the CoW BOOSTER! is 1,000% safe and DOES NOT send false, erratic messages to the ECM potentially leaving you

in an unsafe situation.

Let's try comparing products that are the SAME next time..... Shoot me an e-mail....

I use HP Tuners as well. There is risk of bricking your ecm/tcm any time you reflash it, so there is risk associated with your method as well. Based on the infrequency of reported issues, I don't believe the Vitesse issue rate approaches anywhere near 1%. The biggest majority of issues have been shown to be improper calibration or installation. I won't knock your product because I know nothing about it; I have stated before that I have heartburn over you always deriding your competition, no matter how small they are. It is simply not good business to do so.

The Vitesse has been on my car for over 4 years and has never needed recalibration. It works just like it did when I installed it, and works in concert with the other changes I have made with HPT. Different choices are appropriate for different people, for reasons they can best determine.

Very true, he does the same thing on the Camaro forum whenever someone starts a throttle control related thread. I've learned to just ignore and skip over his posts and threads.

BTW, throttle controllers don't change the acceleration/deceleration ramp rates of the stepper motor.

BTW....yes, it does...

No, I installed a holder for raw carrots between the carburetor and the pedal linkage. Raw carrots gives me an unbelievable seat of the pants difference well worth the trouble of changing carrots every week. If I couldn't feel the difference between having the carrots inline and what I could just do with my foot, I would feel silly spending all that time and money.

Yep, 15 minutes to install and $179. BIG time and money.......

Edit: In the interest of full disclosure, mine did take longer than 15 minutes to install because I put it in the ashtray compartment. Hooking it up and calibrating it took no more than 15 minutes.

I'm calling you on that.

I contend that the carrots would be fully cooked after 1-2 hours of driving -- making them useless for throttle enhancement.

BTW, are they covered or uncovered? Makes a bit difference as to how quickly they cook.

Serious question... why is it that guys who have never tested a throttle controller feel so insecure and threatened by them?!?

Thanks, I'll hang up now and wait for your answers....

All joking aside, I respect Big Al's opinions on these modern rolling computers.

But having grown up driving 50s-60s era cars, there is a glaring difference when stomping the pedal from a standing start from those cars to a modern Vette.

FWIW: To me, it's not so noticeable (or annoying) once at speed and then stomping on it, it's mostly at a SS or very low speed.

I like the idea of mounting it in the ashtray. What is involved in that? Any pictures or Forum thread? Cheers!

There was a basic idea on it in one of Vitesse threads. The control panel is just 3M VHB taped where the ashtray goes. You just fish the wire from the top/side of the tranny tunnel up into the hole where the ashtray was. It took me a while to get the piece of coat hanger I was using up where I could pull it through. I've attached a picture of my mounting position. I ziptied everything else up under the dash.

Chuck,

You've explained very well what the CoW Booseter doesn't do. I'm interested in exactly what it DOES do. Exactly what makes it different from any other throttle controller?

There is no risk whatsoever with our flash process.... Additionally, I have 100s of these ECMs here and should anything ever happen to someone's ecm...

I just take one off the pile and replace it as simple as that....

BTW, I'm still waiting for one of the electrical engineers reading this to rubber stamp the Plug in throttle controller idea.... or maybe some of you

know better than GENERAL MOTORS engineers that designed the throttle system..... Please speak up.... Tell us that these plug ins are a

BTW, if you're happy with your "american made" little box and wires from China.... Good for you. OH, where exactly is the manufacturer located???

A PO BOX in New Jersey?

Any time you flash an ecm there is a possibility for an electrical glitch to brick it. I read about it all the time in various forums, including HPT.

I really don't care where it's made; it works just fine and that's all that matters. It's also very likely that the GM ecm is made in China, so I guess that qualifies them as junk? I purchased parts from China for almost 30 years, and just like in the US there are junk suppliers and state-of-the-art suppliers. You have to QUALIFY them prior to purchase order release.

I previously read the documentation about the Camaro, so why don't you fill the folks asking about it in on the details?
