Thank you
i just burned the .rar/zip file to cdr and it worked.
Once it updated the software the screen showed back up,
clock was still not there but after restarting vehicle
the clock was back.
Thank you very much.
QUOTE=rc51racer;1600456654]Appears there is a video for a DIY fix I just saw on Facebook from "Thecorvettemechanic" to finally get our clocks back.
Searched forum,I'm sure I just couldn't find it. Nothing in manual. Can someone advise how to adjust the date. My 2005 clock just decided to start working completely on its own yesterday! Came on at 12:00 am, December 31, 2000. I was able to adjust the time easily but can't figure out how to adjust the date? Appreciate any help. Thanks!

If you are talking about the date displayed by the NAV system, then it should pick that up from the GPS satellite system once you apply the update. Have you applied the update to the NAV system?

Burn the Nav fix file to a CD-R, follow the instructions at the begginning of this thread, and the clock on the Nav unit will be fixed.
If uyou can't burn a CD-R yourself, there is a few going around in a pay it forward situation for free.
I couldn’t believe my eyes early this morning. I almost went off the road upon glancing over at the Nav center and saw the clock working! Huh! I didn’t download the patch or do anything to make it work. Only short commute drives into town 5 miles. Go figure this one out! Any who...was super happy to see it up on the off screen. When I got home I went to the clock adjustment screen to select 12 hr mode vs the 24 hr mode it was currently in. I was a bit hesitant at first to touch it. You know the old saying...” If it ain’t broke don’t fix it”! Well I took my chance, holding my breath and fingers crossed and selected 12 hr mode. BINGO! It still works. Sigh. Do you think that perhaps GM put in a patch FINALLY?!?! Anyways, I hope all of your clocks that aren’t working on your nav center starts working mysteriously like mine did on my 06 Z51. Cheers!
proof or it didn’t happen right! Here’s a screenshot! Clock magically started working this morning while driving.
When you click on the time, what date do you get? If you unhook your battery, it will likely disappear again if you haven't updated the file with the CD-R
I was so shocked that I didn’t even think about checking the date. We’re taking a day trip tomorrow in our Vette so I’ll check then. Hopefully I won’t need to disconnect the battery anytime soon. Put a new battery in last summer and don’t have any maintenance scheduled right now.
1. download the zip file.
2. Extract the KWI file.
3.Burn the KWI file to a disc
4.Start your car
5.Put the CD in the map disc slot.
6.The update will start automatically. 7.Reinstall your Nav disc

Interesting however.
I checked the clock date yesterday. It readout January 01, 2001. Which, having the correct date doesn’t matter to me. Is there a special significance to the date that appears when the clock starts working again? Just curious.

Presumably you haven't applied the firmware fix, so the NAV system can't calculate the correct date from the GPS signal. Owing to limitations in the original specification for date calculation, the date 'wraps around' at roughly 20 year intervals. We are I believe on the third wrap around. So unless, you have updated firmware, your NAV system is applying an offset which worked 20 years ago, but not now. If you apply the firmware patch, your date should end up being correct.
I have tried several times to burn a cd, NO success.
i would be willing to buy a copy of anyone that has fixed their C6 clock.

I was going to this thread because after about a year of the clock being out from me changing the battery on my '05, I was taking a drive this evening and about halfway thru I look and the clock is working. I know it wasn't the first half hour of my drive. Anyone else just have it come back on recently? I'm wondering, since they say it's because the GPS on the 2012 and older cars is different than the newer ones that that's what caused the clock going out. Maybe they did something. I'll see next time I ride if it's still on. Hopefully so. If not, it's good to know this fix is out there. Great group, thank you.

If you push on the clock, you will see that the sate will be 2001, and not 2020. There is a good chance that if you disconnect the battery agaion, the clock will be gone.
Might as well update it with the fix file and be done with it, and not have to worry.
If anyone is interested I will have a couple of disc with me at Carlisle Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning. I can give you a disc or do it for you if you want. I'm with the Original Garden State Corvette Club we have a tent up on the hill between rows NS and NT. Ask for Tom if I'm not at the tent someone can contact me.
