I was all set on getting this unit after I get my tax return but at this point I guess I'll have to wait till A&A has their sale at the end of the year and go with their kit. I love the idea of the kit and the fact that there is minimal cutting compared to the other kits and that it comes with a tune. Oh well...

I couldn't agree more. The kit should really be in the $5-6K range at most. If the kit goes up to $8-9K then TTs become a no-brainer.

Yup - that investment group's first move - idiots. That may end up being a nail in their own coffin. Maybe Vic can buy the company back at a discount later....

I was interested in this kit as well, but if they jack up the price another grand forget about it, I'll buy a kit from A&A or ECS.

I was fairly interested in this kit, but with the price hike, and the fact they have threatened retaliation against vendors who were selling below MSRP I say screw Edelbrock.

I bid $3000 to the first high quality Chinese knock-off

With price gouging like this, these guys deserve what they have coming.

I will have to agree 100%, im all for made in america and keeping our money stateside, but the fact is that I will not support that kind of taxation.... Its insane.....

as i said earlier though, id never be in the market for one of these hot air pumps anyways. Ive been down the road with the PD blowers, they just dont have enough capability for me.

I paid less than Edlebrocks current MSR price and got a new unit, complete install, complete custom tune (including dyno runs) and a brand new DeWitt Rad. Yes I got a good deal probably because mine was the FIRST install for this shop but Edlebrock will shoot themselves in the foot piling another grand on this unit imo.

I love mine and it looks great and runs fine with over 500 rwhp on the 1590/1593 kit running stock fuel pump. Easy enough to change out the fuel pump and install the smaller pulley if I desire more HP this spring. It's a good solid unit imo but not very cost effective if pushing 10 grand without even being installed! That pricing structure would have forced me to go another direction last year........ I hope Edlebrock gets the message they have to be price competitive with other systems if they want to keep selling these units....

With Edelbrocks introduction of the E-Force for the LS2, my modification plans changed to include this unit (planned to order/install in April). However, if the price goes up Edelbrock will be saving me money. When going FI we have many options. While there are many aspects of the E-Force I like, heat soak and price point are two I'm not crazy about. My knee jerk reaction to the announced possible price increase was "Oh NO!" I've been saving my money to cover the cost of going FI (E-Force). I will be going FI in April. By going FI with A&A or ECS, my dollar will go further allowing me to also add new wheels. Perhaps my reaction to Edelbrocks proposed price increase should have been "OH YES!"

If you go with AA or ECS you will also have MUCH more power capability as they are MUCH more efficiant blowers. IAT's themselves tell the story, check the IAT's of a PD blower vs the IAT's of a centri unit. HUGE difference.

The edelbrock units are fine and dandy if your content with 600hp and a astronomical price tag.

There is a huge difference, I agree. Centris are nice when they work. I've seen numerous centri vettes blow belts at the track. Been there, done that. No flipping way I'd ever run a centri again. I don't care how many people pretend they've never had a problem with them.

Ive rand PD, Centri, and Turbo..... Of the 3, the centri units have always been the most trouble free. Belt alignment is key with any blower application.

I know - it's a song and dance I've heard for years. I've been there, done that, and have a wall of broken parts and a list of towing bills to remind me of how problem-free centris are.

My first preference would be large cubes and a small cam, turbos, or PD blower with a stock hood. To each his own.

I'm not crying - this was years ago & I've since moved on & never looked back. I know some people have years of trouble-free enjoyment with centris, I just wasn't one of those folks.

Yep, if anything they just helped me make my mind up! Now if there was a price decrease, then we would be talking.

They have been on the market for a while now you would think the price would go down not up.

This looks like the end of me waiting for the LS7 version of the E-Force.
