My understanding is that the Goodyear Gatorback belts don't exist anymore, and have been replaced by the Continental Elite Poly-V Series. Summit also lists that belt, in the new Continental series, although it's not in stock at the moment:

Here's a math challenge for you gurus (Andy, Rodney, Carson, etc.): Is there any way to calculate the length belt you would need when you increase/decrease pulley size?
My challenge is going to be figuring out what belt to use when I go with the O/D balancer and the 81mm upper...

Took the measure of the blower pulley and it is 96mm end to end. At the same time its part number in Google search is 81mm.
Crank pulley is 7.5 inch.
Belt is 3014mm and very tight. No way that 2450mm will fit.

Am I getting something wrong? ??

What's the number on the back of the pulley?
It should say what size it is.
Can you take a picture of it?

Not visible. Have to remove it.. I guess. But seems actual measure and part number read differently!

If the pulley on your blower measures 96mm, it's pretty much a 96mm pulley. That's what the HB kits come with if memory serves. NOW, you can pulley down and have bigger grins

Here's the 81mm and the 96mm side by side. You can see the where the part numbers are located. You don't have to remove it to see them, just look on the rear lip of the pulley. You may have to rotate it a bit to see the whole number though.

Done. Mine reads 96mm print unlike what I ordered from Superchargersonline. Will have to get that replaced. At least I know what it is now. Thank you guys.

This is correct. Last time I looked for a gatorback I got a continental elite. If you are getting a Gatorback, it is old stock.

I just ordered me one. Amazon had the size I need but doesn't look like they have the one you need in stock. I try to keep a used belt in the car just in case I ever have to change it on the side of the road (easier to install)

That settles the mystery then. A 96mm normally produces around 6-6.5 psi on a stock cammed LS3, so with your cam, 5.5# is to be expected.:
I don't think Magnuson ships them with anything other than the 96mm installed on the blower, although they'll sell you any of the smaller pulleys separately. Most likely, it's a liability thing. Those damned lawyers again!
I ordered my kit from SCOL as well, with a smaller pulley and no tune, and when it shipped from Magnuson, it still came with the 96mm installed and the SCT tuner in the box - with no Magnuson tune in it!
Not sure wtf that was all about, because it seems like a waste to me to send a brand new SCT tuner and no tune??!
Then I had to wait like almost 2 months IIRC, while Brian chased Magnuson to get me the smaller pulley (which I had by then changed from an 84 to an 81mm).
Those folks (Magnuson) really don't seem to give two ****** about customer service, but their quality control seems to be top notch. I guess that's better than the other way round though...
I would still order anything I need from them through SCOL, though. Those guys are great!

Magnums on told me the reason they don't ship the units with an ordered smaller pulley or tune for same is due to CARB rules. They have the unit where it passes CARB, and the changes violate that.

Here's what I'm going to order from SCOL:

http://www.superchargersonline.com/i...ducts_id=11729

That's a ZPE GripTEC 81mm with a special extra grip finish on the pulley.

I'm also going to ask Brian if this tensioner is a heavier duty than the stock one. It looks like it has a heavier spring, but I'm not sure:

Maybe you can talk Andy @ A&A into making his new billet tensioner fit

I saw that on a recent thread. Nice looking piece for sure. I've always wondered whether I could use Comp 's billet manually adjustable tensioner (picture below), but it seems that the spring-loaded tensioners is what everyone uses with serpentine belts. The old Procharger setup on my boat used a 10rib serpentine belt, with a single manually adjustable tensioner, and that seemed to work.

If you've got a bad a$$ short belt that won't stretch much, a manual tensioner will work. I haven't seen any 6 rib belts, eight feet long, that won't stretch under load though. Once they stretch much, it's game over with a fixed tensioner.

Thanks Rodney. That makes sense.
What we need is some steel/Kevlar belted belts!
What do you think or know about the Maggie sprung tensioner? Is it stronger? I think I'll give Brian a shout later and post back with what he says. I have a few other things to ask him about too.
It's really annoying that Magnuson doesn't even post anything on their site about their upgrades and accessories. WTF is up with those folks?
