You think you are scary going down the track. Imagine what my friend in his 422 Trans Am thought when he passed me with us going about 115-120 mph at the 1000 ft. mark. This was April 2, 2002.

Wow! and I thought that I was scary. When I get cold I loose feeling on my right side..... The day we went to the track rental it was really cold and I wanted to talk to everybody as we had only exchanged posts & PMs on the forum. Unfortunately, I got too cold and got somewhat too numb. I drive numb but I drive like a little old lady as my reactions are much slower DUH!

1.) I deep staged almost past the tree
2.) I deep staged and continued to creep up a few times
3.) I though I lifted before the stripe but did not and drove through the lights running 12.53 @ 122.87
4.) I was in the right lane, shifted second, lost traction and the rear started to come around, headed towards the wall, lifted and straightened it out ........scared the livin hell out of everybody as they thought there would be bits of Blue Corvette all over the wall.... somewhat like the Video
5.) Launched too hard can out came out somewhat sideways, lookled at the wall, recovered and ran a 13.6
6.) My lighting fast reaction times were a best of .902 but most were 1.1xx or higher.

So I can be very scary

LOL...yeah let either one of us know if ya want us to take a pass in the car. It's an all bracket event and I'm not very good on the tree either but maybe one of us could get a new best sixty foot in it or something.

Do you know that my ALL TIME FAVORITE drag race video EVER is Pain's (the owner of that black Firebird aka: your friend) video that is set to the song 'The Red' by the band 'Chevelle'. It really is and I've been telling people that for over 3+ years now and I clearly remember one part of the vid showing him racing a blue notch (I had an emerald green '91 notch by the way and I LOVED that car) and there it is!

 

Yep, that's me! Only got a small scratch on my left hand. Very fortunate! I still can't believe the car didn't take a roll. Ended up parting the car out after that. Those notches were not very stable above about 140 mph without a rear wing. We had a strong head wind of about 30 mph that night. That coupled with my speed told me I had about 140 mph head wind. Back end started lifting.

That of course wasn't what made me love Pain's video so much, I could never enjoy seeing a fast Fox body kiss the wall LOL. I just loved how he had edited and set the video, as an LSx motor enthusiast it just impressed me a lot.
I think he called your car the 'Blue Bathtub' in the video?

I had never seen that video. Thanks for posting. That was my "Blue Bathtub". Brooke Ayers (99Redhawd) or Tony Whatley (Nineball) named it that way back. My "Blue Bathtub" took out quite a few LS1s back then. It ran a best 10.30 @ 127.? mph. The pass that I crashed was my best ever 60' although not my best 1/8 mile time. Larry had a 6.622 @ 104.52 mph on that pass and I a 6.513 @ 102.81 mph. We will never know who would have won had I not wrecked. I think he would have caught me though.

 

Your car has 4.10's in the rear?

 

I just had them put in, but may drop back to the 390s, which is what I had originally intended to go with. Who knows, I might even put in 373s...

DA at Moroso ranged from 1581 early in the evening down to 1318 late but the dewpoint kept rising so the track was going away as the night went on.

Normally I launch at 4500, but I was able to get some 5300 rpm launches to hook rewarding me with the 1.658 and 1.695 60's in the slips below - by the end of the night a 5300 resulted in a little spin resulting in the 1.821 60 in the last slip.

Not sure I'm going to get much more out of this combination unless someone can teach me some new tricks. The car is running consistent 11.6-11.8.

Still not enough for the "Cam only" record! I've only got 2 shots left at best before the weather changes. If I can get DA below 1000 without the humidity, I've got a shot to eke a 11.48 out.
