I am think of going to a 3.15 differential becuase I will pick up 15% more acceleration (Gs) through 4th gear. If I went to the 3.42 I calculate 25% more Gs; however, I think I would have to shift into 5th gear to get through the quarter. I have ran the 1/4 at 124.74 with an ET of 11.643. Do you have any thoughts regarding 3.42 vs 3.15, and my 5th gear calculation on 2010 A6?
nice times

i have the 3.42 gears but on the strip i run 275/40/17's which is about 25.66'' tall and i hit about 122-123 mph most of the time. my car tries to shift into 5th right at the finish line but my car also has the stock cam so my shift points aren't really raised.
there is a guy on here (his screen name is subfloor) that has 3.42's with the same size tires as me but he has an LS7 with a cam and his rev limiter is raised quite a bit, i belive his can hit mid to high 130's with his setup.

Do you have a before and after changing gears ETs, and what was your gear before you put in the 3.42?

i didn't get a good before and after comparison because i put the FAST 92 on there at the same time but i would say its good for anywhere between .1 to .2 on the ET, i know not as much as you would think but every little bit helps. before i went to the 3.42's i had the stock 2.56's.

this should help http://www.f-body.org/gears/ going from 3.42 to 4.10 I picked ~.3 and that was with an extra shift(~.2), if you're already shifting to 4th you should see at least that assuming you can hook up

If you want better ET's...315's or 342's in conjuction with a 3200-3600 stall will do the trick! That combo will get you well into the 10's.

I have a dumb question. I was checking out the 1/4 times list and I noticed a ton of cars listing a "cb" mod. What is a "cb" ?

Thanks, Check-Mate & Tropic. I hope to hit 10s for sure in Sept.
I'm getting a flip-drive and smaller pulley for the supercharger installed. Even with a 1.8 sec 60 ft. I should hit 10s.

Great Pass! With that MPH you will be well into the 10's with a little harder launch, very nice

Thanks.
You're right about needing to launch harder... I saw a video of one of my runs and the "launch" looked i was leaving my drive way. It needs work.

Only got one test pass and got kicked off for no roll bar. There's a lot left as you can tell by my 60 ft. I came out real easy to see how/if the drag radials would work. They hooked and I bogged real bad..

I know. I wish I could have gotten in a few more runs. This was just my first pass ever with the blower so I took it a little too easy out of the hole. 10's are there to be had, but I need a roll cage if I want to do it.

What's up guys i just took my 05 M6 to the track this past friday night....DA was 1700 and temps were around 80-85 so not great weather for making some passes but my best was a 12.72 at 111MPH with a 2.07 60ft, car is stock. I'm looking to run a 12.4x or 12.3x here in the next few weeks, this was my very first pass after driving to the track and after only a week of having car. Will keep ya'll posted if i can get down there and post up a new record here pretty soon!
