Yeah, if HRP hadn't told me not to run anymore 11.5s I would've tired a few more runs with more burnout. I did about a 9 second burnout on that run and it launched pretty hard, but like I said, still spun for about 20 feet.

It'll all come together with a few more weeks practice.

If you get a converter in that LS3 with some drag radials I bet you'll be running 11.3s your first night out.

Harlan Charles, the Corvette engineer, told me at SEMA that he's always surprised when people question how the GS has a faster 1/4 mile time than the stock car even though it's the same engine....it's simple

Traction! The 325 tires on the GS allow better traction than the stock 285's.

Made sense to me.

I had the true pleasure of speaking to Harlan and several of the other of the Wixom engine builders at SEMA. They confirmed, they watch the forum, and it was very obvious that they are TRULY car guys and are gratified when they see us using our cars as designed on the track and our enthusiasm for our beloved toys!

Frank "Evilways" warming up for another 11 second pass

Please see page 1 post # 6 for instructions & rules. In order to be placed on the list I need a complete timeslip & completed template in your post per the example.

THE LIST

Regarding correction factors:
Times are received from all over the country and are not corrected. Because track and weather conditions vary, this list ranking does not, and can not, identify the fastest cars or drivers in any particular order. It only lists the recorded times, regardless of conditions, in order from quickest to slowest. In cases where ET is the same, the higher MPH determines list order. The bold numbers refer to the post number utilized to report the elapsed times in this thread.

Shawn I guess I'll need spinning numbers for your times..... next week lower 11.50's

A converter would be fun and for sure would give me good gains but I sure like the way my stock converter drives on the street. And then I would need tires to take adantage of the converter of which no 19" stickier are available. One thing leads to another. LOL!

By the way, you have Dr in my description. I have no drag radials, just street Nitto Invo radials.

Larry, my 3200 Yank is VERY civil around town. It's a great converter for a daily driver.
Now that we use my wife's XLR-V as the daily driver I wish I had gone with a 3600....oh well, I'm still confident I can pull low 1.6s with it, which should be good enough for 10s later on.

Circle D is a local company who makes bulletproof converters who I would also look at. They can build a converter to your needs.

You're right though...I wouldn't worry about it until there is a tire you can put on to handle it if you don't want to switch wheels/tires for the track.

I would be more inclinded if the tire issue wasn't a problem. I like my wheels and don't want to mix. I could most likely have two 18" Gumby's widened. Would be good to have tires that give me back my first gear on the street.

Use this link for your DA: http://www.dragtimes.com/da-density-...calculator.php

Nice stock times...I bet if you went back out in high 50 degree weather you'd actually do a bit better. In the 40's it becomes very hard to get traction.

By the way, you have Dr in my description. I have no drag radials, just street Nitto Invo radials.

Larry,

I have a 2800 stall with a trans tune that makes it very civil on the street. Utilizing 17 inch MT and C5 wheels it has run a best of 11.38 @119 with no weight removal and at least 1/2 tank of gas. With the stock gumbys I can only nail it from a roll and the active handling still kicks in. Now that it is cooler out I have to behave ..... My stock tires are still good so I'll address the tire/ suspension issue once I need a new set of tires

Thanks Tommy!

I should probably consider a fairly tight converter. Although about a 4000 would give optimum performance for our engines. Anything helps though. I have the gumbys too. I've considered buying two front and have them widened. Maybe I could use my first gear again. Don't really like to mix wheels on the car.

Yeah, I have been toying with the idea of getting two of the 18" black cray scorpions and having them widened for my rear set as well. I can't hit it from anything under 35mph without getting wicked wheelspin, even with 305s on back
