Howard I'm trying. its getting harder to get there need some luck. it was consistent though 12.181 12.219 12.227 12.23 first run left easy because track suppose to be slick 12.376

TommyD please add my new best ET. I Ran my C6 at E-town, hit a perfect .000 light and ran my fastest time 12.515 at 113.56 with new Vararam CAI. My next run was .015 with a 12.515 at 113.42.

Good job Joe, considering that the air is not as good now (though more miles on the car helps too) as it was with your 12.7x runs I guess this proves that the Vararam really does work huh?
You have the GHLs on now too right?

I just started reading this post last night . . .whew! So much data! Anyway I've been drag racing on and off for the better part of 20 years and just sold my first 'Vette (C5 vert, A4, perf axle) in the thought I would order an '07. I test drove a new 6 spd mn last weekend and thought that although the ride was much better than my C5, the seat of the pants feel was not much different at all, which surprised me. Only after reading this thread last night did I learn that Chevy now uses TM in the manual tranny as well. Anyway, I've read many posts by Jschindler and Zippin Zee on this thread and agree mostly with what they say. I did not have the chance to go through all 26 pages of info last night so maybe this has already been brought up, so please forgive me if I am being redundant. Jschindler has mentioned many times that he believes that it is possibly the lack of skilled drivers in the new C6 that has limited the # of good track times. This very well may be a factor. But in my experience, a bad driver in a fast car will still post a pretty good trap speed but with just a lousy e.t. - and with an A4/A6 car, the ability to 'punch and go' should make trap speed even a bit more consistent within a specific car. Conditions also vary and will always be a factor as well. But if Jschindler, or anyone else from the below posted list were to jump in the seat of one of the slower cars out there, would it make a huge difference? Maybe it would, I don't know but would be interested to see. Personally, I'm leaning toward the thought that it is more Chevy's fault than the individual drivers (at least at this point...but again, I could be wrong). Take the top times posted below . . .could these be examples of factory 'ringers' that missed being de-tuned from the factory somehow? Even some of the e.t.s from this list are times that could be duplicated by a stock C5 and some of the trap speeds could be beaten by one. I'm certainly not trying to stir the pot or step on toes as I want validity in ordering my new C6. But if GM is handing out TM disabled cars to Road&Track, Motor Trend, etc. for better published test data, letting a few other cars slip through the cracks (like below) and giving out de-tuned cars to the general public for a purpose I can only assume is to cover up a weak differentail rather than fix it . . .perhaps I should reconsider. Anyway, that's my .02 cents. Thanks for a great and informative thread guys
