I'm no expert on the subject, but I've been getting a little better at the burnouts. I've been placing my heal on the brake, while I apply the throttle in first and let out the clutch. I try to keep the rpms at around 5k, and after the tires have spun enough, I ease off the brake and roll forward a little as I let off the gas.
Ranger has more detailed instructions somewhere. Ah, here it is! Search is a good thing! As a matter off fact, I just reread it and now wished I had done so yesterday, before I went back to the track. Oh well, I'll keep working on it!
Craig, your 1/2 second consistent improvement, driver only, was inspiring! Jeff has my tape and will make us some DVD's. You will be quite proud of your burnout. But next time you're in the shop, invest the couple of hundred in a line lock. The line lock is much easier on your rear end - do a search on C5 tech for DTE's posts on the subject and you'll see. And it makes the burnout fool proof as you saw with me yesterday.
I have run at ATCO many times before and went through the water box.
Even with only doing a quick spin in 1st to clean the tires my stock Viper GTS on stock tires cut a 1.89 60' and on R-compund Kumhos cut a 1.68 60' with the same technique.
My 2003 Cobra with 492rwhp on BFG DRs cut a 1.85 60' also with the same technique.
My Yellow 2003 Cobra cut a 1.96 and a 1.99 60' on stock tires with the same technique.
The one trhing I like about ATCO is that they don't soak the waterbox if they see you have street tires, so you can roll through the damp box and do a decent spin on the dry part right after the box.
The 19" runflats will be the limiting factor compared to the other cars that had 17" and 18" less stiff rear tires that were not runflats.

True, but all of those sixty foots might've been better with more heated (and more dry LOL) tires...stock Vipers can hit 1.7s, modified Cobras on DRs are capable of 1.6s...your numbers are still impressive but I think there was still more left in those cars as well. As we all already know, good sixty foots are critical in obtaining strong ETs.
For comparison's sake I've got a 1.58 in my mere 335rwhp Z28 on drag radials after a serious burnout, automatic of course though.
Now I'm not sure if I really needed to do it or not but I cut that 1.88 in the C6 after literally baking the rear tires in fear of dragging that water up to the line, gotta be careful not to fling it up into the wheel wells either though so it doesn't 'drip back down' onto the tires as well.
But who knows, the TM 'delay' may've been the real reason why I dead hooked though LOL so I'm not sure.
I finally made a couple passes in Evadale Raceway,Texas.Showroom stock 07 '1LT and throttle lift shifting.(Front tire 31,rear tire 32.)
60ft 2.25
1/4 13.163 at 111.5
Second pass with a 40 minute cooloff:
60 ft 2.11
1/4 12.936 at 111.4
Now I have to clean bugs and crap.

My 1st two times running my 2006 C6 1LT resulted in a 2.30 and a 2.26 60', but I had lowered my rear tires down to 26-27#.
Finally on the 3rd pass I tried slipping the clutch and got a 2.02 60' and it knocked my times down 0.3-0.4 to a 12.55.
I'll bet with your car if you just lowered your rear tires to 26-27# and raised your fronts to 34# cold you would shave 0.1 on your 60' and 0.2 in the 1/4.
I didn't make my best pass of the day until my 3rd pass and my 4th and final pass was my 2nd best pass.
Yell03-Yeah,I crossed the line in 3rd gear.My first pass was with the traction control.I also tried doing a burnout with TC on!Second pass without TC.I'll try lowering the tire pressure and a higher RPM launch(2200).
I see that Ranger improved his time with bolt-ons. What were the bolt-ons?
Yes, drag radials only...he only runs the car two ways, bone stock and bone stock plus drag radials, that's it.
I'm more impressed by his bone stock 11.24 then his 11.10 on DRs...that car (and his driving) amazes me.
