Spin, which shifter did you get 25% or 35%? Thanks for your honest review. I am looking forward to seeing one with the stock **** installed..
Great response to a miscalculation, George. I too hope you stick around the CF for a long time.

Spin i believe was being a bit overly dramatic about the height but still 1 1/2 inches is too much
sooo...

i am making some new stock unthreaded shafts that are an inch and a half lower and problem solved. i will have them ready in a week. anybody that already got the shifter and does not like the hegiht on the stock c6 **** will be getting the new bracket free.

this only applies to the stock c6 ****. the shaft handle for the threaded shaft is just fine.

in fact it looks awesome in the new 2008 interior with the chrome bezel ring on the top of the oem boot. our gripper **** seats inside it PERFECTLY!!! look at the pic below!!!!

so in a nutshell it was basically a miscalculation on the shaft hegiht when making the oem shaft. i did not even think that the oem **** had so much area above the hole in the ****.

OUR billet ***** are threaded so close to the top of the **** that it sits alot lower.

so do not worry guys, if you want to use your stock **** and maintain the stock height i will have it all worked out by end of the week. and again anybody that received the stock **** handle last week WILL be getting a new shaft to lower it to stock height. and do not worry about the force i tried one today and it is just fine to shift.

regards
george
That is great news, George. I just placed my order on Friday, I will call your office and ask that my shaft be the one for stock height

Thanks, George.....appreciate the quick response. I'll be happy to return the original bracket you sent as soon as I get the new replacement...if you want it back.

BTW: I am a Business Coach and many of my clients could learn a thing or two from the proactive way you are addressing this. Great customer service!

This is great news! I had decided not to buy this shifter because I want to use my stock ****, but not on a higher shaft than the Hurst I have now.

Let us know when the new short upper piece is ready to ship. I'm ready to buy.

Tom

I love my MGW shifter but never really considered the overall height until reading this thread. I did go with the MGW shift ****. These pictures aren't perfect because the camera isn't exactly in the same position for both photos but its pretty close. You can see the MGW is a little taller but I wouldn't change anything about it.

hey george, will the revised stock shaft be the same height as it was stock? maybe even have an optional hole to place the shifter a 1/2inch to 1in lower. i know you said it would increase effort but im sure thre are many of those like me who wouldnt mind and would actually like a lower sitting ****

He's only goofin around Geroge (he got Photoshop for Christmas). Spin and I were talking today as we drove around in his car, we both feel the MGW is by far the best shifter we've ever seen or felt for the C6. It's a great item, thank you for bringing it to the market.

i installed the new design bracket tonite and the **** sits about the same as stock on my 2008 now. it really cannot be any lower because you will not be able to clip the boot ring around the **** due to the center shaft.

it REALLY shifts nicely but i have to say the stock **** is not nearly as quiet as the gripper i make. now i have a new challenge.,.,

i am going to machine my own pivot ball cups to eliminat5e even more noise from these cars. i am going to get this thing as close to perfect as i can!!!

I got my shifter today,George and I have to say I am truly impressed! This is the finest machine work I have seen on an aftermarket part.I can't imagine this unit ever breaking, and there is absolutely no vertical movement of the vertical shaft in the base.I'll be looking forward to getting the new lower height stock shiftknob adapter so this sweetheart can get settled into it's new home. The picture above looks to be perfect on height.Like everyone I appreciate the time and craftsmanship you have put into this project. It is the new standard in Corvette shifters!
