Thanks Tom! Makes me wonder what replacing the H-pipe with a single fat pipe would sound like.
I actually wondered the same thing last night.
I need to fly back to Maine tomorrow for a 180 mile bicycle ride across the state for American Lung. When I get back, I'll try "prototype #2 and see what happens.

I guess I'm in the minority that think the C6 sounds great and not a fan of the super low "rumble". While I like how the LTs and Corsa catback sound on my 02 WS6 I find my self wanting a more exotic tone like the C5s and C6s have.

LS1 WS6's sound awesome...I hate the exotic sound of a corvette...it is an american car.
If I want to hear something "intoxicating", I'll get a bottle of Jack Daniels and a tape recorder. If you prioritize sound, trade your Corvette in on a Mustang. I like to go fast. I'll keep the C6.

was lookin at the messages here and thought.... If I punch a couple of quarter inch holes on each side of the original exhaust, on my C6, it would probably sound like that old '67 GTO we used to love. Who needs thousands of bucks of mods?????

right on.... record your own exhaust gas... after a night with the Jack....
It has been stated, I do not know by who, that "the sound of ones own gas is music devine... the sound of another's gas is something worth avoiding..."
The total exhaust length matters. Longer = deeper.
The GTO is 13 and a half feet from the tailpipes up to the frontmost
manifold, measured along the ground. It'll be at least 15 feet
once you include bends.
I thoguht bout exhaust length, but my Wrangler w/a 350, outside the frame headers, and turn outs sounds freakin awesome. That exhaust system is about 3' long, from collector to "tailpipe". I definitey appreciate the constructive input though. Obviouly, so far I haven't figured out what the "key" is to good sound in this chassis.

I bought a Corvette, so I want BOTH; Performance and sound.
ditto on that lol... bullets and headers with no cats, makes c6 sound insane.
I have bullets w/x-pipe and it sounds a little crazy but not insane. I mean I want clinically insane serial killer give a ticket please sound. So i've been trying to research high flow cats when I came across this thread. How did you get around the 02 sensors if you removed them??
thanks
John

How long is the Corvette exhaust?
Maybe. But here is an exhaust system that is no more than 3' long. Must have decent speakers to hear this. Also, in person, this sounds MUCH smoother. I think the mic was distorting, which makes it sound "packy" when I get on it some.
