shaving weight
I wouldn't sit in the car with the radio on and the starter button in 'accessory mode' for too long if I had one of the small ones in there though.

I removed the hatch latch that requires manual closing of the hatch and added an auto pull down latch. The manual latch weighs at least 3 pounds less than the auto pull down latch.
If you want to save those 3 pounds I'll swap you my manual latch for your auto pull down latch.
Let me know if you're interested.
Bob
- 15lbs for battery

Light wt seats, non leather, but nomex cloth race seats, with solid mounts, not sliding mounts, can save over 50 lbs from two seats,
remove speakers and stereo and CD players
take out carpet ( well maybe not)
light wt battery, but need to keep on tender when not in use
18" rims and non run flats tires. That can save almost the equivalent of 100 lbs
No bling under the hood. take out any chrome covers,
BBKs will weight more then stock brakes, but that is a trade off with better braking vs lighter rotors.
One can go over board to reduce wt vs street functionality too.
as in Lexon windows vs glass.
Carbon fiber body parts
take out windshield washer tank and fluid
take out insulation out of doors and under carpet
Or one could just stop eating at Micky Ds or Krispy Kreams too
Good Luck
Good start on the weight. I haven't done anything except LTs.
Formula car mirrors - less than 1 pound per pair but are tiny
Roll bar tubing (4130) 1.5 X .120 1.769 lb. per foot
1.750 X .095 1.679 lb. per foot.
Harnesses- About 4 lb. per set
I searched around a found a thread where they show a digital scale weighing the stock Z51 rotors and the their new 2 piece rotors and verified that the weight savings was almost 4lbs per rotor. Didn't know if they had a quality reputation or not although it would appear they do based off their forums.

Also, the racing seats are really not very adjustable, so keep that in mind, as well.
Remember that half of what makes our cars so enjoyable is that they successfully mix great power/speed with comfort and reliability. When you start messing with every aspect of the car, in pursuit of "improving" it, you generally do just the opposite.

take it from someone who's been there a time or two...Just think really hard before you whip out the credit card and start ordering every mod under the sun.
