Statements like that are right up there with:
the last thing this car needs is more power
the last thing this car needs is better handling/braking
the last thing this car needs is better fuel economy
etc.
One can always use more weight reduction in their car just as one can always use more power.
oh trust me, theres never enough power! my point was that usually most people focus on how to put all the power to the wheels and keep them sticky..not how to make the car lighter... im sure after i supercharge i will be looking to shave some weight too hah

Missed one:
The last thing this car needs is a loose nut behind the ( steering) wheel.
I'll chime in with some quick input. I tossed both OEM seats and did one Tillet B1. Shaved 78lbs just doing that. Tillet only weighs 10lbs, and surprisingly comfy. Kindy a cross between a Ducati solid rubber wafer thin "R" seat and the more cushy GSXR OEM seat, LOL. BTW rotating doesn't save that much "effective" weight. Inner radius of the wheel equals 1.25lbs off the equivalent sprung part of the car, and outerpokes or rim of the wheel is about 1.5 lbs apparent. Mostly tossing the OEM rotors, and lighter wheels is more a benefit for unsprung handling and reduced bump steer etc.I am impressed that Lou's G2 coilovers shave that much weight, and far cheaper that Pfadt's featherweights. Count me in for a set Lou. Anodized Red!
I was also disppointed that going non-runflat doesn't shave the kind of weight it did with the C5Zo6 vs regular coupe. Man I was bummed. Hoping it could be another 24-30lbs..but only 12 +or- .
LW racing seat with fixed mount. Approx 38-45 lb savings
14" BBK, StopTech. Approx 10-12 lb savings each corner
LG Coil overs. Approx 9 lb savings unsprung each corner
Carbon hood. Approx 30 lb savings
Non runflat tires Approx 3-5 lb savings each
LW clutch Approx 25-32 lbs
There are many ways to remove weight from the car, and the above is probably the most popular ways to do this and still acheive where you are wanting to go with the car and stay very street friendly.
Of course there are further ways to do this by removing radio, speakers, carpet, A/C, trim panels, glass, side impact, air bags...but at that point you are not street friendly, and in some cases not street legal by removing a lot of the factory safety items.
The above information are some interesting ways to save weight..but I dought that the specific weight savngs are accurate on the C6's. I especially question the 30lbs weight savings for the hood... Closer to 5 to 7lbs. Depending on what your ultimate goals are...Maybe you should also look at weight distribution, sprung weight and un-sprung weight. The installation of a lightweight Braille battery will save weight..but more importantly is the placement of the battery. If you relocate the battery to the rear cubby hole(ZO6 placement), this will help in better weight distribution. For drag race applications...removing of the front sway bar not only saves weight..but allows for the upward movement of the front end during accelaration.

It's really hard to save 30 pounds on a 26 pound hood.
I got a big laugh from the post where the hood liner was supposedly 5 pounds.
That kind of stuff makes the credibility of everything else disappear.
The aluminum mount kit is sold separately.
The B2015C was chosen as the battery for the Katech ClubSport, so I think it's worth doing it if weight reduction is one of your goals.
