Default Stock C6 Proper Tire Pressure

Hey gang, I was wondering what is the optimum pressure setting I should have on my stock C6? It's at 28 psi now which I think is a little low, proabably due to the very cold weather lately. Anyway I am going to fill them up and figured Id ask the gang what I should fill them up to. Thanks

Most use 30 psi cold for daily driving. Should be a mfg. lable on door panel.

Its written on the driver's side door on every vehicle sold in the USA.
30/30PSI for the C6 when cold.
If you pump them up in winter remember to air them back down in summer.

I was told that if you used nitrogen, they aren't affected by heat or cold and hold the same pressure as when filled. I also think this is what they use in race cars.

I find I get best traction in any temp running the Rears at around 27-28 lbs on the street and if you drag race at the strip-then around 25-26 lbs. Fronts stay at 30 lbs on the street and around 38 lbs on the strip.

highway driving 30 psi all around, road course GY f1 supercar, not standard but z51 tires , warm weather start at 25-27, they get to 30 pretty quick, and start getting poor traction as they get hot and pressure gets over 34. If I start at 30 they are at 37/38 in no time.

Whoever told you that is 100% wrong.

As your tires heat up, the pressure increases. The effect is the same whether you use air or nitrogen in your tires. And that effect is significant and easy to measure.

Before you drive tomorrow morning, check the pressure in one of your tires. Then check it again after driving 30 minutes. If it's a cold morning, I predict you'll see an increase of about 5 psi after your tires warm-up.

BTW, air is already mostly nitrogen (78%), the rest is mostly oxygen (20.9%). http://scifun.chem.wisc.edu/CHEMWEEK/PDF/airgas.pdf

I can't argue with the manufacturer's recommended tire pressure(s) but FWIW I usually run an extra lb or two in the front tires to help compensate for the C6's 51/49 weight distribution ratio.

Yep, 30 PSI when they are cold, then when you are driving they will raise to about 32.....good enough, unless you drag race every day.
