That sucks. To be honest I don't think I've ever seen one! I can only imagine what a day must be like for an Ofc to carry one of those or a sound meter. Each agency has its priorities. I refused to be placed in Ca. Well to more specific, it was number 54 on my list :-)
It's some type of device that hangs on the window or they can put up against the glass to get a reading and it does work in the dark
I'm a native CA and it does suck here.
The CHP sucks BIG time they don't give you any slack. Just to say "drive safely" after writing you up.
I bought one last week from Fred (Fperra) who by the way is a true gentlemen, and a man of his word. And would like to install it next week.
I've done a few searches on the M40 install, and just wondering if anyone has any installation advise to offer. My main concerns are getting the sensor wires through the fire wall (there must be a grommet somewhere), and where you got your 12v switched power from.
I've seen two installs. One with three sensors in the front (which is not listed in the instructions), and one with four sensors in the front, and two in the back. Are they meant to be mounted with all four in the front, or two front, and two back? Is there benefit to mounting all four of them in the front?
I've seen these mounted in the front grill, and cant imagine anywhere else that they might be placed.
Who's got this system installed, and how is it working?
Basically I don't speed, but with a VY vette that only rolls out fully polished, it attracts A TON of attention, so if anyone is going to get singled out doing 65 on the freeway, it's going to be me. It's just a $300 insurance policy.
Thanks in advance!
Keith
Keith, if I had installed it I was going to use the Cheetah wireless fitting kit. With this you don't have to go through the firewall and the in cockpit display is much better than what comes with the Blinder. Here is some info on it:
Go with a diode based heads on laser jammers, there is basically led vs diode heads in which diode based heads are 10x stronger the led based. I would stick with either the laser pro park or the laser interceptor that is both diode based heads, they cost more but well worth it in the long run. I had the opportunity to test out the laser pro park on my vehicle with all the latest police laser guns and never could get a reading on my corvette with the laser pro park, I then tried some led based such as the zr3 or zr4 escort laser jammers and more and was able to get a reading on them close up....so basically if you are coming over a hill and getting hit at 500 feet or less you are done if you have a led based laser jammer...spend the extra money and go diode. Here is a radar detector forum I found explaining how led & diode laser jammers work:

Best post of this thread , thanks. This will be my next purchase, since I am a LED foot..
Cool, let me know how it works out! I have the laser pro park myself and the quality of it is amazing.
Can't wait to see some pictures! Also placement is the key to laser jammers.....you have to look at your vehicle and ask yourself the question...if I was a cop...where would I hit this vehicle with laser...cops look for spots that are highly reflective....this is how laser works...bounces off an object and back to the gun with the reading....so the less reflective stuff on the front of your vehicle and on the rear the longer it will take to get a reading or any reading. Most cops shoot vehicles at their headlights (highly reflective) or their front license plate (highly reflective). On my car I have the veil on my license plate and headlights which helps reduce your overall laser signature profile of your vehicle, plus I have the dark tint on my front headlights as well to even more reduce my laser signature. I risk the ticket but no front license plate either. But I have the dual head laser jammer system and spread it out the jammers one under each headlight on the lower bumper at the top part...will try and get a picture soon for you guys. But basically you want to place each laser jammer head in a spot you think the cop would target on your vehicle and make sure they are spaced out well to cover all parts of your vehicle.

If you can show me pictures of your set up it would be greatly appreciated..

That doesn't make a lot of sense... You do realize "LED" stands for "Light Emitting DIODE", right?
So you are saying instead of getting a Light Emitting Diode based jammer I should get a DIODE jammer...
Trouble is, a Diode is an electronic component that has absolutely nothing to do with jamming laser signals:
ALL Laser jammers use LEDs, and ALL LEDs are Diodes.
But not all diodes are LEDs

Please post a photo so I can see how the Veil looks on the headlights.

Does that Veil spray on product work? It costs something like $89.00 per can.
What is the signature profile of Corvette?
Most Corvettes don't have front plates on so they run a very high chance of getting a ticket even without laser present.
If he sees no plate to target he will go after you anyway.
But if you do have a Corvette with a front plate aren't the headlights a better target as far as the LEO goes for reading speeds?
It sounds like if that "Veil" really does work then the headlights and the front plate should be sprayed with it.

Hey Powerlabs you have any of these results to post up? And how does the interceptor work at closer range? Is it able to jam different laser brands as effectively?
Are these laser Jammers like Radar/Laser detectors (exception V-1) in that you have to replace them constantly due to technology. I mean I have been through 3 radar detectors before getting a V-1 3 years ago. It can get very $$$$$
What is the No. 1 laser jammer that will jam all laser guns?
