I will address it tomorrow as well... Hold button in until I get two beeps... I run mine in no traction as well... I had this message come up twice over the last two years and NEVER move my steering wheel up or down... I was going straight both times...
I got the SAH warning after my vehicle started pulling left and right on the highway at 68 mph next to a semi-truck. Scared the living daylights out of me. Thankfully, I grew up learning to drive on black ice in winter and this was a very similar feeling so I was able to straighten out. I have an '05 C6 with a telescoping steering wheel so I am going to have my husband check this out. My girl's going to stay parked until we have checked all sensors related to the issue too. When I took it to get the codes read shortly after this happened, nothing came up. I heard that is not unusual from some other owners. I am going to try to go into the DIC and look for the code history as another suggested. Thanks for all the helpful information on this forum, it can absolutely save a life. I submitted a complaint with NHTSA as well. Oh, and of course all of this happened on day 2 of ownership so I feel like there is a rock in my stomach until the issue is resolved.

When I purchased my C6 the first things I did was unplug the steering wheel position sensor. This disables the active handling which I felt was a small price to pay for the knowledge that my C6 wasn’t going to try and kill me.
This actually caused me a serious accident went sideways for no reason at all, 5 degree day 3am on interstate. I hit a poor guy in an F250 3 times till I gave him a pits maneuver sent him across 3 lanes of light traffic at about 60 mph. He wasn't hurt but...
Being sued for millions and the lawyer says I cant even tell the truth. I have little confidence in this car that it could happen again. The steering wheel position sensor was changed and the service active handling warning hasn't come back. This is the craziest thing and I really dont think this system has saved anyone any accidents but certainly caused them.
I can never relax in this car, my 2006 Z.
A few times it just applied the brakes while turning left in front of oncoming traffic too.

Thanks! She’s all fixed. Took her in it to the local Chevrolet dealer to get a scan. Turned out to be the YAW sensor. Replaced, no issues since. Also took into an electrical specialist in town and they did a full scan on all systems and checked all the connections. Turns out the previous owner meddled with some of the wiring when doing some upgrades. Bad grounds, loose connections. They fixed all of that and now my C6 rides like a dream. I’ll be taking her in for an electrical check up annually to avoid any wild behavior. 👍
My 05 was at the dealer for 6 months while they diagnosed the SAH issue. They never could reproduce it, so I went there twice to drive it, and reproduced it both times, by getting the car over about 25mph and adjusting either the telescopic control, or tilt. The first time, the brake switch was being shorted out by corrosion in the BCM. The BCM and brake switch were replaced, which corrected the SAH error until two days later when it returned. At which time, the TCM failed as well, and the car was towed back to the dealer. The second time, the error was pointing to a fault with the steering wheel position sensor. This was replaced, and I have not had any issues with it in about 6 weeks now. After a conversation with the dedicated Corvette tech at the dealer, he explained the early C6's were known for this, and went on to further explain the Active Handing system is very broad in these cars, and tries to govern too many systems. IMHO, it sounds to me like GM had not finished the software design by the time the C6 was released.
I have a 2010 GS that locked the front driver caliper on the track last week without even applying the brakes. Not sure it's related or not or if there have been any other reports of this issue with the new C6's. The TPMS sensor light came on first then about a minute later the brake locked turning into a slight right hand turn on the track. The brakes would've have been really hot during this time so not sure if this was the issue either. Any help is appreciated.

Personally I think its a pretty easy decision to permanently disable the active handling. Just ask yourself, "Would I drive a 400hp big block classic car?". If the answer is yes, then you're going to be fine with AH disabled as even without it the C6 is a MUCH MUCH safer vehicle than any classic.

Yeah, you get a message on the DIC. But It never really bothered me, because I knew that when I came to sell the car I could just plug it back in again.
Can you tell me where the connection is located so I can unplug? Every time I move the steering wheel
in or out I get the message. I recall taking it in for the quick fix, but I still have the problem. Thanks.

You'll have to remove the panel under the dash. It's on the bottom of the steering column.
