I would prefer the Ferrari but I will settle for what the pocket can afford. Maybe for my 40th birthday I will be able to go the Ferrari route, but thirty isn't happening. Biggest Takeaway from seeing the Ferrari's in person are the brakes. Seriously the brakes on those cars are no Joke.
599 GTO is $450K IF you can get one of the 599 out there
Corvette is stale. A paint stripe or decal won't help. The Acura NSX abd BMW i8 are far better looking based on the photos I have seen. Chevrolet needed a new Corvette and you got a 6.5 model. Electric motors, Mid engines, turbo charged 6 cyl engines, all wheel drive, 8 speed auto transmissions, retractable hardtops (instead of the creaking targa topin my C6) are some of the features offered by the Acura NSX and BMW i8. Sleek looking cars with the latest techonolgy. I have owned Corvettes since 1975. NO MORE. I traded in my 2009 C6 for a new BMW Z4. The Z4 has everything (except my 430 HP) I need or want and at much less than the cost of a Grand Sport convertable. In the future, I'll be looking at the BMW i8 and maybe the Acura NSX. Sharp/sleek looking cars. The 6.5 Corvette looks stale for sure.

Huh?
"I just sold my house for a more expensive condominium and I like it, the only thing missing of course is the extra 2000 square feet and big back yard that I gave up."
Where the hell are some of you people getting this logic (or lack thereof) from?
Comparing $125k - $160k cars to a $50k one, NONE of which even exist yet?!
Please.

Z4. My neighbor's daughter drives one of those and even she calls it way too much of a girl's car LOL.
I'm sorry, but looking at the photos of the C6.5 and the NSX and i8 in Car & Driver make it very clear that the 6.5 version of the Corvette is just plain ugly while the i8 and NSX are very sleek and the features, drivetrain, etc. are far advanced compared to the same ole same ole Corvette. Corvette need a new car from the fround up and it didn't get it. Goodby Chevrolet.
