I'm gonna go buy a CAD program and start producing a C7 rear end retro-fit for my C6. When that's done, I am going to become a supporting vendor on Corvette Forum

The reality is the car is as you have seen it.

No one in the big wide real world outside of our cloistered Internet world really cares about my opinion or your opinions although by definition that is the purpose of these forums.

Lets accept that many of you hate it and will never buy. Why torture yourself having to look at something so disgusting and have to constantly be reminded by it by coming back here? Don't get me wrong that is clearly your right. But, I don't spend any time on the Viper boards convincing them their car sucks. I have better things to do.

As well, myself included, don't really need to say for the millionth time how great it is. It gets as boring as the preschoolers saying " no you didn't..." " yes you did" back and forth for an hour.

Can we rise above that and discuss practical and technical things?

I am not going to change anyone's mind to rush out and buy it.

And the people who honestly hate it won't convince anyone not to buy it.

So we end up in a vicious cycle, fool's game of waste.

GM will not fail even with moderate corvette sales.

GM could give a rat's butt what we talk about on here. There is no fantasy end around coming with a last minute change to what any of us want..... Maybe a trip to the Disney/ Chevy design studio can ease the pain of you designing exactly what you want.

The world will not end if 60% of current C6 drivers don't buy it.

There will be more than enough people who say yes and will buy it.

By the way, Nikki Minaj's butt is disgusting.

No it isn't

Yes it is

If you need to compare the C7 (renderings, anyway) to a car that reminds you of a Hoover Vac, then your standards are quite low, don't you agree? Granted, it looks better than the GT-R, but the GT-R has carved its own design niche.

Try comparing the C7 to cars you like to look at. Does it still come off as a work of fine art?
1. Based on what I have seen of the C7 exterior design, I am not as excited about it as hoped for.

2. Based on the above, simply trying to look at the glass as half full.

I certainly hope what I see in renderings is not what I see in person. No doubt, the performance aspects of the car should be improved regardless.

The real thing might be a major improvement over the renderings. Like you, I am waiting with the optimistic attitude that the C7 will be a gorgeous car.

My first look at the C6 was my decision point. I had not paid much attention to the pre-introduction hype. But when I saw the real car, I knew I would own one. I haven't seen a C7 yet.

Exactly the new generations of potential vette buyer will love it. They have grown
up on the Asian design. Its there first cars and probably current car. Yeah its wow
for them.

Older that are use to american style will probably move on. I would go 911 unless
they decide to copy this asian theme.

gm doesn't care about the older because there days of vette buyer are waning, you
got to focus on the new up and coming money. They might buy several vettes in
the coming years, where as older might but 1 more before hit the box.

Based on your logic, GM should just design the newer vettes for the Chinese market and be done with it. If they do that, the C8 will look a hybrid of a GT R, Buick, and C7.

So instead of asian design you will go with a VW/german design because that is so much more American?

How about italian?

Or british?

911 or 599....... what dreams are made of. C7...not so much if it's just a rebadged Camaro.

I'm waiting on Jan 13th,

In reality, I'm just kidding myself thinking that I can afford a new C7, even a base C7 would lack what I'm used to and only a C6 Z06 is on par(maybe). So in the end it would take a $80,000 car (new) or a used (45,000) Z06 to justify a switch. The new C7 is very anticipated and I eagerly want to see one. It's going to be hard on me knowing that getting a new one is beyond my sensibilities and wallet. But I couldn't be happier with being "Stuck" with my C5. Can't wait to see you new C7 owners on the road.

Just the tooling will cost you about $500,000. Have fun.

Now if you could produce a C7 type rear hatch for the C6 I'd be in . Tired of the rear glass greenhouse styling.

Plenty of people won't like the C7's rear (or whole thing). But I wouldn't criticize it for looking like a cheaper sibling, and then hold the 911 up high as an example.

Although I do know where you are going, the 911 is a classic design.

I am excited about the new C7. I, along with many others, am buying one. Thanks Keeks for all the information. It is a lot of fun discovering things about the new model. So many fools are hung up on the tail lights. They will never buy one. Really who cares?
The C6 headlights caused the same reaction, and in-spite of the ugly head lights they sold a lot of C6's. As for the whine about 427's take it to the forum that deals with that and leave the C7 guys enjoy their pages.
The negative people, now referred to as haters, will always be with us. I have found them to be happy only when they are complaining. It gets worse as they get older. If you like Vipers and Porsches go to their forms nobody GAF here about you or your love of those other cars.
You just bring them up to stir the pot. If we wanted to buy those cars we would. If we wanted to read about them we would go to their pages.
I am a Corvette person from the beginning. I love them. The new Corvette is going to turn heads. It is sleek and aerodynamic. It will be fast. It will be fast enough to run with every Vet made except a ZL1.. Your C6's are great cars. If you love them keep them. They are no longer in the front row so get over it.

Happy motoring...
