I suggest you take a long, hard look in the mirror. Before you go throwing stones at other peoples' glass houses.
When I look in the mirror I see a decorated military veteran and now successful business consultant. I also see someone who is wasting his time replying to your or DREAMERAK's posts so I won't anymore.
I'll also check settings to see if I can put the two of you on "ignore". Haven't had to do that with anyone yet, so I'll go look and see if CF has that option.

What dreamer said. You haven't been enough of a troll yet for me to put you on my ignore list, but given time, you probably would be.
And for a decorated military veteran, you don't have 1/10th the class that my dad has(and he is a 20 year Military Vet himself). Guess not all Military guys are created equally. -shrug-
Given the polls that I have seen and participated in the level of ambivalence over this car is considerably high.
This is disturbing.
Good design should be immediate and invoke a positive response from a significant majority of the loyalist as well as those inquiring to see what it's all about.
But if you add up the responses that represent hesitancy, tentativeness, uncertainty to outright rejection [across a number of polls] you come up with about a 42-48% ambivalence rate. Interestingly the overall expected change in perception based on the sampling has not reduced the level of ambivalence over time and may be actually growing. It’s still early on but there should be signs of movement in a more positive direction at this juncture. Given the 80/20 rule as applied to design it appears that there is an issue in the styling expression and GM would be smart to keep a focused eye on this in order to make adjustments as soon as possible.
Ambivalent or negative responses for this particular thread represent:
• I need to see it in person first
• I hope it grows on me
• They could have done better
• They ruined the Corvette
The interesting thing I have come to better understand after talking to a number of corvette owners is that with the C7 there are more than two or three things most potential buyers would consider immediately changing as opposed to the C6 where there was mainly one maybe two that they would change over time. This is separate from modifying your vette for personalization
Just an observation….
Good post. I voted "they could have done better' but if you had a choice of "the thing has a roof line that is just plain ugly and looks cartoonish at best.." I may have voted for that! I like the technology and the 450 hp (according to ED WELLS),but the rest of it they can keep.I would dare say it is the Pontiac Aztec of Corvette! I had the opposite reaction to this car that I had when I saw the c6.The c6 was 'oh yea,I gotta have one.." this car was more like "what the hell did they do?". I laugh when I hear them say they are targeting the younger gen with this car. It's bigger then the c6,it's heavier or at least the same weight and more money! Those young people buy BMW'S/AUDI'S and anything foreign. They do not buy Chevy's under any circumstances. The Chevy name is a stigma this car cannot overcome, and now looking like it does..well,it just got harder..

gonna just get another C6 for now, take advantage of the great prices on the 2013s, and let the C7 work on me for a year or so. i need to see it in person first.
QUOTE: I would dare say it is the Pontiac Aztec of Corvette!
PERFECT!! YESS!! Hit the nail on the head. The back of the C7 is so completely ugly and out of character with the iconography of the Corvette that the C7 deserves the uncoveted 5 Aztek award, delivered with a big Raspberry.
And a strong hint that GM needs to redesign the C7 to look like a Corvette from the back, not a 1980s Japanese economy car, not a Batmobile, and most assuredly not a CAMARO!
I still love it that people are shocked by similar tail light features of the corvette to other Chevy products. Nobody was complaining when the cobalt, impala and camaro all had dual lights on both sides with the last models. They were closer in design to the last corvette model than the new corvette is to the new chevy cars. This has been and WILL ALWAYS be the way that cars are made when you're trying to define a brand. Get over it...
Park the corvette next to the camaro and stand behind them and tell me they look the same and I'll tell you the same thing as I would if you told me the new C7 looked ugly. You guys are crazy!

Have you checked the latest performance statistics? 460 Hp, 465 ft/lbs of tourque and the second fastest time around around VIR? The only car quicker was a 2102 Zr1. Beats all of the foreign models including Ferrari, Nissan GTR, BMW M6, la la la la..... All of that out of a z51 base model priced at around 60K. Imagine what the Z06 and Zr1 equivelents will do.
Those numbers should make everyone look at the tail lights and say...."what a cool car...I gotta have one". That is what I am saying. I love the styling of the C6 but the C7 has more edge, looks more aggressive and can kick A**. It's looking more and more that my first Vette will be a C7!

The back end of the car is a total abortion, it goes well beyond tail lights and into the Toyota Zone. Or the Batmobile Zone. Or, good god, the Camaro Zone. Pick one, pick all. The back end is a complete un-Corvette mess.
The proportions are out of whack with the rest of the car. The rear hatch swapped wrap around glass for a early 80s Toyota liftback hatch with limited visibility and limited cargo space and worst of all safety concerns (resulting from limited visibility).
Moving on to the busy cluttered styling in the back, it looks like someone slapped on cliches with a trowel.
And of course, after having the iconic and instantly recognizable four round tail lights since the early 1960s, some arrogant self absorbed Aztek and Camaro designers took it upon themselves to decide they should toss tradition and iconographic styling and instead apply lamps taken straight off the lesser Camaro.
I could go on but I won't, it's all been said several times over. And over. And that's because Corvette true believers are aghast at the violence that's been done to our favorite American Icon.
