I have a 2014 and have noticed the same thing. It is now my belief that it is not the exhaust that is closing, but the AFM is going to 4 cylinder mode. Watch your V8 - V4 on your instrument cluster. My guess is that will be the issue. Sounds like a door is closing and then the exhaust is quite.

AFM is the culprit.

it is the 8 going to 4 and it drives me nuts. somewhere around 1500-1700 rpm the flaps for the 4 close to about the size of a nickel opening for back presure and the d.mode at the back has no presure and goes quiet.
something else i've noticed when driving with the window down the a6 will go through what seems to be down shiftting and then i hear what i first thought was metal twisting or a small cherp sound from under the car .now i don't know if its the 4c. values closing or what it is but it dosen't sound normal( well gm would prob. say it was ) . it's not real loud but loud enough for me to hear with the window down.
some will prob. not notice this , but if anyone has let me know please.

So I followed all the recommended track procedures on the car (dealer did all the fluids, installed the cooling rings) and after two track days, my rotors are exhibiting surface cracks. I think they should last longer than two track days and less than 2000 miles on the car. Dealer doesn't believe GM will cover any part of the rotor cost; hoping you have a different opinion.

While we're at it, I'm seeing multiple part numbers for the 2015 Z51 Rotors (front and rear) - could you also please give me the correct part numbers?

When the Drive Belt Tensioner was leaking hydraulic fluid on my A6 I could hear a chirpy noise when in V4 and rpm's around 1300-1500 rpm's, at any speed. Dealer replaced the faulty tensioner under warranty. It is a known issue and there are PIP bulletins on this.

I have the same chirp (VIN 408, 2014 Z51 A6), no fluid leak that I can see, will have the dealer check it out at next oil change.

Default Problem with A8 going into Park

When my car was removed from the car carrier after delivery, it would not go into Park.
The shift cable was bad. Has anyone else had this problem?

I have the exact same issue.
I will be curious to find out what the dealership tell you.
Please let me know and thank you!!
And...best of luck![/QUOTE]

I have the same issue. All brake pads were changed. Still did it. Then changed rear pads and rotors. No repeat yet. Let me know how you came out.

Get ANYTHING EXCEPT run flats. When I lived in Ct., I hit a 4 in pothole and got a bubble on both right side tires(car was one week old) Goodyear's reply,"Too bad !"
The owner of the local Chevy dealer was a father of a student and basketball player of mine. He comped BOTH tires. Had I not been in that position, I would have been out 1K.
Goodyear doesn't back them and they're $$$$$$ .

I switched to Goodrich on one car and Bridgestones on the other.
BOTH were significantly better for me.

Uh, I thought C7s came with Michelin's. Why would you take your Michelin's to a Goodyear dealer??

That's unusual because I also contacted Goodyear corporate customer service and was given the same song and dance.
I'm glad you had a more cooperative dealer.
For me, I'm done with Goodyear FOREVER.

Default Issues with Driving Modes

2015 Stingray, just picked it up 2 days ago. I noticed today, when I would switch to example form Sport Mode, then to Track Mode ( I know not recommended for Street) just to see the difference in steering and exhaust the car when I went to go back to Sport Mode or any Mode, automatically skips all and goes to Weather Mode. Once in Weather Mode, I try to switch and skips all and goes back to Track Mode. I am hoping it is something I do not know, or is this a glitch? Any help would be appreciated. I am also turning the **** slow and waiting for it to engage before I switch out of it. Help please, while I will not be driving in track mode, I do not want something that is not working properly. Thank you!

Also it does it does sometimes work normal, there does not seem to be a rhyme or reason. Closest thing I could do is when I take off traction control and go to Track , then switch back, always seems to go back to Weather mode.

Seems to be a common problem. My 2014 does the same thing. For me it has only been an annoyance; I've always been able to wrestle the dang **** into the proper mode eventually. I would bet that GM won't do anything until somebody threatens a lemon lawsuit for this stupid little problem.

Default Odd feeling when making tight turns - slowly

I get a "funny" feeling in the wheel when I make a tight turn going very slowly (less than 5 mph) - it "feels" like it is coming from the rear. Seems smooth when going over 10MPH -

Any thoughts?

This is by design so you can see the rear bumper and can even get REALLY close when doing parking maneuvers.

It's addressed in the manual and is nothing new to Corvettes with large tires.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ackermann_steering_geometry
You can also google "ackerman effect" for more details.

From the owner's manual pg 1-20:

"Tire Chatter/Hop

When driving at slow speeds and in
very tight turns, the vehicle may
have tire chatter/hop. This condition
is normal and the vehicle does not
require service."
