I don't see the problem unless they banged their door into yours.
Maybe they just wanted to get a closer look... I couldn't blame them, that's a beautiful car! I used to park mine anywhere, I didn't really care much about it. Personally, I wouldn't have an issue with it even if we were the only two cars in the lot, as long as my car wasn't damaged or nearly impossible to get into.
Nice ride. I just saw a few on a car carrier last week for the first time and they look better in person than in pics, and they look pretty dang good in the pics.

Thanks for the comments, Tom. To you and all the rest of the forum members, (even the guy driving the Buick) I wish you all the best on Christmas
Perhaps
A parking moron that gave enough space for the OP to get in and out of his car, I see no issue. On a separate post there was some information about a vette that was hit, that is a parking moron. Hit and run is a moron, not parking appropriately. At least that is my opinion anyway.
No problem if I have enough space to get my door open. As I said in an earlier post tonight, I try to park my car where I can keep an eye on it. Couple weeks ago, a guy parks so close to me I could not have walked between the rear view mirrors. I walked out of the bar, and let him know I was NOT a happy camper.
If he had not moved, I have a "church-key" that will cause some paint damage if I have to crawl in through the hatch.
umm…yeah…cry a little more…I guess you were not smart enough to park even further out or take the truck like the rest of us. I get it…you should be able to take the vette and GOD FORBID someone park next to you…get over it…it's just a car…oh…and Merry Christmas !
It's great that you have that attitude, I kind of admire it in a way since I am so jaded. I just can't agree with this statement though. It's an effed up world we live in, filled with lowlives and scumbags. I assume all people are pieces of **** until proven otherwise.
The only time it bothers me when someone snuggles their car right up next to mine is when I go to great lengths to park so far out in the lot that I think no one would even think to park out there with me, much less walk the distance into the store that requires. In other words, I'm willing to do that to be "out there alone", not hassling anybody, and some bozo decides it's funny to park right next to me...up close and personal. Clearly, that's someone trying to get under my skin...and successfully I might add. But, in reality, that VERY rarely has ever happened to me. I just park that far away.
From your picture, it seems like there are a lot of cars parked out as far as you or farther. Unless they all parked after you, I think you just didn't park far enough out. I don't think you are "safe" unless you park well beyond the normal parkers. 15 spaces past everyone on one particular row isn't enough.
I have one 19 year old car with no door dings. It's take more hoofing that what we are seeing here. Plus go for end spots. That eliminates half the problem.

The good news here is that karma will eventually take its toll.
Make sure to come back and complain when your car gets keyed.
I knew it wouldn't be long before some superstitious nut mentioned "karma". Ohh Puleeeeeease
The incident happened 5 years ago!! So, in your karma reference guide, have I exceeded the statute of limitations? You have downloaded the latest karma reference guide v13.0?
Maybe some day I'll hit a couple unicorns and dent my bumper.
At least he didn't park so close you couldn't get in the car and/or damaged your car.
IIRC years and years ago, someone posted just this scenario here on the forum. Seems they'd driven to a large shopping mall and had parked as far away from the front door as possible, empty spaces all around and no cars anywhere close. They came out later only to find some ricer parked so close to the driver's side that they couldn't get into the car. They had to crawl across the passenger's side to put the car into neutral and push it out into the driveway to open the driver's side door.
Talk about p-o'd! Before they left they produced a pair of wire cutters and cut off two of the ricer's valve stems before they left.
If this story was true, IMO the ricer got what he deserved!
So, I drive my C7 up to Home Depot to get some supplies. I park 30 spaces away from the building, 15 spaces from the nearest car. When I come out, only one of those 15 spaces is full…
Classic, just get used to it. Believe it I just park in normal spots with no damage ever in 9 years of Vette ownership. Most just want a close look at your toy.

I have 23 years of Vette ownership - 600,000 plus miles.
I recently replaced my C6 with an older Ferrari as my daily driver. It gets parked where it's convenient not in the back 40.
It's not a holy relic, it's not something special - though it's not very common - but, it is, in the end, just a car, just like every other automobile on the road - but, it does get a lot of looks, photos, and questions...

I had a similar situation once. I was coming out of a store as a guy in a pickup parked next to my Vette.
Before I could say WTF, he told me that he was a Vette guy too, and he was blocking for me, so no idiots would park next to my car.
Go figure.
A couple years ago and before Christmas I *had* to go to the mall in Dallas (to get something specific...I hate malls...) and parked all the way on the roof of the parking garage. There wasn't but a few cars on the entire level but I still parked way away from the elevator & stairs. When I came back 30 minutes later the level was about half filled or more. There wasn't anyone right next to me but as I was approaching I saw a little security golf cart (light flashing) sitting a few spots down from my car - as I got to my car the security guy pulled down to me. I thought I was in trouble somehow. He asked if the Vette was mine. I said yes and he told me he had one and told me what it was - I have honestly forgotten what exactly he had but I think it was an early C6. He told me he was sitting there keeping an eye on mine so nobody would park next to it. We talked for maybe 10 minutes.
You must have led a very sheltered life...no leo experience, I'm sure....
Nope, 39k miles on my 2011, daily driver, park anywhere, and get pulled over every 6 months or so, but no tickets. Cops want me to take them for a ride, brag about the car, probably because I treat everyone the way I expect to be treated.
