Hello,
My understanding is that the constraints will continue for the 2014 model year. GM made commitments to suppliers that are short of demand.
Ken
Well this is just totally unacceptable to me. You mean that I ordered my car in October and I may never get it because of the constraints on this year? Now my salesman won't call me back and I am getting pretty ticked off.
My plan is that if I don't get my car by the end of February or at least hear of some definite news that it will be built or at least moving up the code ladder I am going to get my deposit back. This is no way to treat your customers, Chevrolet!

You need to point your frustration at your dealer. You are their customer, not Chevrolet's. Not knowing your order specifics, it sounds like you should find a legitimate dealer that can get a car.
I placed my order on 1-8-14 and was number 4 on the list. They have been very forthcoming with information and even let me know that the CF dash and painted roof are still on constraint. This is my first vette and while I'm usually an impatient person I have to say that I am excited to go through the process and know that when it arrives it will be exactly what I ordered.

CandyVette, I feel your pain. I had a meeting with my dealer's Sales Manager today, and he was very forthcoming and (I believe) honest with information. I wish my car was being built or was in my garage, but with Z51 constraints, I am where I am. My issue is with a poorly-prepared salesman who has not taken the time to learn about the process and dances around my specific questions. That behavior had raised suspicions with me and had me become as educated as possible on the Forum, in the event I encountered a snow job with the Sales Manager. The sales manager convinced me that it will take time, but they will get my car built as long as the constraints don't move backward from where they are now. I will deal directly with him from now on if I have specific questions, not the salesman.
It looks like they will likely be given an allocation to build my car around the same time one of the larger dealers has described if I got in line there, so for now I think I will stick it out as long as there is movement toward GM acceptance, albeit much slower than I would like.
Do it again, I would have gotten the education here with all you fine folks first. Then I would have asked all the right questions and chosen a dealer that could get it done much quicker. I hope my desire to promote the local economy doesn't backfire....

Do it again, I could not agree more! Hopefully!!!.

That is not Chevrolet doing it. It is your dealer, who does not have allocations for your order. Nothing is on total constraint.
In oct I gave my dealer a deposit. First week of Dec I had a order with three constraint items, Z51, Exposed Carbon Fiber top, and CF dash. Car was built 1/16/2014
Has he call offered to get the car built with one of the items on constraint deleted? I had two orders I passed on because I could not get items I wanted, third order I could.....

Well boys and girls, it's finally happened! I've been promoted to 2000 status and will be leaving you forever. (Knock on wood) it's been a long and frustrating road, but I know it will be worth it in the end. Hang in there, miracles do happen!

As a long time member of the 1100 club, I congratulate you, I hope the next status threshold moves quickly for you.
I received the printout this morning... finally. Looks like there may be light at the end of the tunnel. Make that two lights... two sinister looking headlights!
You can also get it by posting in the Customer Service sticky post at the top of this forum and I believe also by chatting with Chevy customer care on chevrolet.com or by calling the customer service number.

I was chatting with Customer care on Chevrolet.com this morning. I was informed my order was placed on 11/11/13, on 12/17/13 my order was re-edited (what ever that means). Talked to my sales rep. yesterday and he informed me that the dealer is contacting their GM rep. Now I want to get hold of my sales rep and tell him this development. I am a pest and I know it. I am going to start working my way into GM (start with a janitor, go up from there) depending what happens in the near future.
(Editing can involve correction, condensation, organization, and other modifications performed with an intention of producing a correct consistent, accurate complete work) 12/17 was about the time I was informed that GM had picked up the order?????. Weird?
