North Florida. Small dealer(about 40 Corvettes per year), no museum or courtesy delivery.
I would guess that you will get your car very quickly, as it would be shipped by truck and not by rail, and it could be on a transporter headed south of you, to the larger dealers.
They don't hold shipment until they have a full load(eleven) cars on the transporter going to a single dealer(except for the mega dealers like Kerbeck, etc), but might drop off cars at 2,3,4 or so dealers on the trucks route.
My guide on the Buyer's Tour said that he knows they are still shipping C7's to Canada via rail.
They also ship Corvettes by rail in the US(out west), but most are delivered by trucks, but they have not always been shipped by rail(just the last couple of years vs since 1954). Canada is a mighty big place. I could see them shipping by rail to Vancouver, but not to Winsor, just as I could see them shipping by rail to Seattle, but not by rail to Detroit.
Also don't take what a tour guide says as gospel. Last month, when I was at the plant, one of our group asked the tour guide how many Corvettes are produced each year. The guide hesitated a couple of seconds, and then said "47,000". That was a fairly simple question and is not a closely guarded secret that only Tadge knows the answer to, yet the guide got it wrong.
Seems like I am getting a better response from Corvette blogger than Corvette forum!
At least they actually respond to my questions! I cant seem to get anything from customer service thread on my 16.

I was told that they considered the changes from the 15 to the 16 to be relatively minor and they should be shipping in aprox 2 weeks. I received a response in less than an hour..Just nice to have a reponse.
Hopfully this the case..
I have a '16 Z06 that was produced last week, #0254, which is now one of those sitting at the plant in the sea of white. I have NCM delivery. I just talked with them. They told me they expect the plant to start moving cars next week. They will start contacting NCM delivery customers in the order the cars were produced and offer available dates in that order. Sounds like the 2 week hold is about over.
I doubt Corvette Blogger has any more information than people here. They are just throwing out an educated guess and probably a good one. As long as no issues are found during the two week quarantine, they will likely release the lot for shipment.

My guide worked on the floor from 2002 to 12/31/14. He seemed to be pretty knowledgeable as he just had to look outside to see how they were being hauled away...

Yep, all he saw was every Corvette being hauled off on a truck transporter. But, some of those trucks were headed(in the last couple of years) to a distant rail facility where the Corvettes were then loaded on railcars, headed out west.
It has been a very long time since any Corvettes were directly loaded onto rail cars at the Bowling Green plant. The rails have been removed inside the plant's acreage. You will notice that fresh asphalt has been installed where the railcar loading tracks were, in order to expand the size of the holding lot.
Also, no incoming parts are delivered by rail, as it was in the past.
Back in 2013 when the first C7s were rolling off the line, some folks were posting photos of the huge lot holding the waiting built cars. Anyone still doing this?

Don't know how up to date the satellite views are, but use google maps to view the holding lot.

Yeah, those views will be old. I was wondering if anyone was continuing to photograph the lot in person to provide a look at the number of cars holding in the queue.

I think better would be having one of the locals posting videos of any trucks passing out the gates! That would put an end to the innuendos about movements here.

Its been posted here many times already. 2016s should start arriving at dealers around mid August. The Factory has many holding lots. I have always said its never a good thing to have an early build car because they sit outside uncovered for weeks in the sun rain and hail not to mention all the paint damaging bird poop they collect. Its best to get a build week in late July or early August.
