Its been posted here many times already. 2016s should start arriving at dealers around mid August.
I can only guess this assessment is using the 14 and 15 MYs as a reference which I don't think is appropriate. 14 was a new generation year that had all kinds of potential for teething issues and thus an inordinately long quality hold. 15 had the introduction of the A8, PDR and other significant improvements, so a significantly less, but still substantial quality hold.
The 16 MY has no substantive changes and is more analogous to the third year of C6 production than the previous 2 years of C7 production. The quality hold on the 2007 C6 was days not weeks.
All indications are that the 16MY hold is over as 4000 status codes (vehicle available to ship) are being widely reported. That means there's just around two weeks of backlogged shipping to clear up which won't take long. My first week production 2008 Vette got to western Canada 2 1/2 weeks after the quality bailment was lifted. I don't see why U.S. dealers won't start seeing cars as early as next week for those close to Bowling Green.

Mine was built on 6/23, passed QC on 7/1, CCS weekly email indicated they could not track it further. This would seem to indicate it's on a shipping manifest?

No GM pretty much has a Company wide release date so they can liquidate prior model year inventories before shipping the next model years cars. Its really that simple. 2015s shipped faster only because they didn't go into production until August so it made no difference they had already past the shipping embargo dates when the build started. This is the reason the 2014 model year build was extended to the end of July because the demand was so high for the C7 they could by company policy still keep shipping new 2014s with no hold up. They built 2014s right up to the shipping embargo release date then changed over to 15s so there would be no delay in product and no holes in dealer inventories on a hot selling product.

Back in 2013 when the first C7s were rolling off the line, some folks were posting photos of the huge lot holding the waiting built cars. Anyone still doing this?
I walked/drove all around and could hardly see in. The only place I had a good view was inside the factory and we can't bring cameras in there. There was a sea of white covers in the back. Well over 1K. I couldn't count the rows and columns fast enough, I would have lost track.
This is the pix that I got from outside, you can see a small portion of them. I should have brought my drone and then I would have got a great picture of the lot!

Where's your evidence for that? It certainly wasn't the case for my first week production 08 C6 which shipped 5 days after manufacture to arrive in Canada on July 18. At that time there were still thousands of 07 C6's on dealer lots.
The 16MY cars sitting in BG aren't corporate orders, they're all dealer initiated orders, These dealers have to pay for these vehicles once invoiced and a substantial proportion are pre-sold and have no standing inventory to compete with. Not to mention that the standing inventory for 15's has every indication of being very low.
At any rate, this is a simple enough issue for the facts to prove out. Vehicles either will or will not start moving out this month. If you're right, we won't see movement until August.

Don't forget in 07 the Corvette sales began to slow so how do you fix this? A new 2008 with a new bigger motor that went flying off the lots as soon as it touched down. GM does what they need to do for GM and its dealers They could care less that you have a car ordered and sitting somewhere. Its all about there marketing time table and whats selling and whats not. That's why 2008s shipped early. Im betting 2017 will get a new motor and interior enhancements to once again prop up sales in mid platform cycle. Did you happen to see here a while back someone from GM asking about a change in location of the door lock buttons? Your going to see new seats and door panels in 2017 and im thinking a move to some sort of new standard dash and center console facings along with at least a 30hp boost on the base car.

So, in other words, you have no evidence for your assertion and this is all your personal speculation. Point taken.

I'm still betting it's going to be WAY before mid August. I think we'll start seeing cars hit the dealer's lots and customers hands in the next couple of weeks.

My car has been at 4000 since the day after it was built on 6/23. I'm positive the quality control hold wasn't over then. Plus I've been tracking it with OnStar GPS and I haven't been able to locate the car. This means OnStar is asleep because it hasn't been started and therefore hasn't moved since then.

To be clear, I've seen nothing on this forum, or anywhere else, that documents 16's are now in transit. What I did see yesterday were a number of posts from 16 MY order holders that stated their status just changed to 4000 (available to ship) after being at 3800 (built) for a number of days. I took this as a hopeful sign that the quality hold may be coming to an end.
We'll find out soon enough on Monday as that will be the two week mark since the start of the new MY production. The rumors on this forum have been that the quality hold would end after two weeks assuming no quality issues developed.

That has been my understanding as well. I'm hoping to see my car appear Monday on that OnStar GPS map!

I'm with you on that sentiment since I have a horse in this race. My Z06 rolled out the factory door on July 1 (a Canada Day car). I haven't got my VIN yet so I haven't activated OnStar, but hope to do so next week.

As I have posted, from MacMulkin: build date 6/23, QC pass 7/1. Nothing is going anywhere until they get the invoice, then all hell breaks loose doing cash calls. His attitude is this happens every year, its a process that has to wind its way to a conclusion. Probably great conversation Friday at the bar about how many customers are in between a sh*t and a sweat about delivery of their cars.
FWIW My weekly CCS email indicates they can no longer track it. Makes me wonder if its on a shipping manifest?

I'm 0012, whats your VIN?
VIN #0068 also ordered from MacMulkin with a Museum Delivery. I need to co-ordinate schedules between myself, my Dad, my Nephew and hopefully my brother. Everyone needs to know ASAP and I have nothing to tell them other than it should be in the next two weeks!

This was the red pill/blue pill dilemma for the buy 15 or 16 back in May. You want to be guaranteed a car for the summer, then order a 15. Want to twist slowly in the breeze?

044, also from MacMulkin. I never got anything indicating that it had passd QC though, Did they email you that voluntarily or did you have to inquire about your status?
Last I contacted them they told me they are waiting for invoices.
