Quite satisfied with the quality and looks. I got the best price from my local dealer. Finished off the install with purchase of scrivets from Amazon instead of rivets.
I looked through this thread. Maybe I missed it. Part number on the splitter?
Thanks
Has anyone used the pop rivets supplied with the splitter? It might be easier to change with screws or push in rivets but how often would a person need to replace the splitter?
Screws are MUCH better than the push type retainers.
Depends on the purpose. The advantage of the push fasteners is that in my experience they pop off instead of tearing the splitter or front air dam when you hit something.
Ask me how I know?
I had two teen sons, used to buy the push fasteners by the bag as my sons tended to drive my sedan of that time--an Intrepid--over snowbanks and come home with the front air dam in the trunk. Pop in five or six push fasteners and we were good to go again. (The fasteners were always lost in the snowbank, never to be seen again.)
I also used the push in fasteners just for the ease of removing the splitter if need be. May never need to remove it, but just in case, it will be easy.
I used the scrivets because I knew at some point I was going to scrub the splitter and have to replace it. Some point has occurred so now I'm glad I don't have to drill the rivets out.
Excuse my ignorance on these splitters, but at what speeds do they come into effect at? I always thought they were to stabilize the front end at real high speeds. Thanks.

I think that almost no one installs this splitter just for improved down force. Most are installed just because they like the way it looks, and I think it does complete the front end.. However, if you really are going to race the car, you should use the screws or rivets to mount the front edge. Remember, the real purpose is to create force on the front end, and plastic fasteners may not be strong enough. I used the same bumper cover screws that GM uses to attach the rest of the bumper.
Use these and they are stronger and still can be easily removed.
I installed the front splitter strictly for the "cosmetic look" of the C7.
Driving at normal speeds, the front splitter really has no effect on downforce or increased aerodynamics.
It just looks cool and makes the C7 look even sportier. Add some side skirts and you have a mean looking racing-type driving machine.
Both components front splitter and side skirts have little aerodynamic functionality except protecting the side rocker panel from scratches, nicks etc. from road debris.
I went to the trouble to prime and paint the splitter carbon flash followed by clear. It looked great for a while but was no match for the little rocks and etc that beat the crap out of it. So part two of this experiment - I just gave it a quick sanding and applied a few coats of plasti-dip. I like the look and prefer the black color to the raw plastic color. So we shall see if the plasti-dip holds up!
Nice, I picked one up off amazon a few weeks ago for $110 shipped. Even though it's gonna get beat up, I painted this one too. It looks so much better painted, plus I had all the materials sitting there. Maybe I'll plasti dip this one after it looks like crap to see how that does.
Hopefully this one can suffer a slower destruction unlike my last one.
This will be my third poverty splitter and the scrivets have been a godsend. No matter how attentive I am there is always a situation that comes up that scrapes my splitter. When it gets too ugly I replace it. Can't imagine buying one of those aftermarket expensive(!!!) splitters only to have them destroyed by a tire remnant on the freeway, or a deep drive, speedbump, parking block, etc. $120 per year is cheap for me.

I should have taken a picture of mine. It looked pretty like that but after several thousand miles looked like it was hit with birdshot. I've had the plasti-dip on for a while, it's more durable then paint but still has taken some hits and no longer looks perfect. The plus side though is it's an easy touch up with the splitter on the car and little more plasti-dip from the rattle can lol. Like others have mentioned, it gets the crap beat out of it from my sloped driveway and daily driving - so I'll just replace it when it get's too shredded. I don't know how these guys keep their expensive carbon fiber or painted fiberglass splitters so nice, I would wreck it in no time.
^^ I know, are their roads that pristine? My first one looks like exactly how you're describing yours. I'll be curious to see how your plasti dip holds up, I used the rest of my paint on this and won't bother with paint anymore. I'm not too familiar with Plastidip, did you use glossifier on it?

The nice thing about plasti-dip is that the finish is a little rough so it hides imperfections. I didn't bother with the glossifier as I have never tried it and some people report mixed results on the glossiness. Don't get me wrong, the plasti-dip is not nearly as nice looking as paint and it won't stay perfect but it is certainly more durable than paint and touch ups will be quick and blend easily. I mainly just wanted it black instead of the sort of grey color. It's cheap enough and if you don't like it you can always peel it off.
