I bought a bunch of these awhile back and have put them everything. But have been cutting the two wires going to the light. They work on bulbs or LEDs. Don’t know how to wire up to pin 11 to operate relay for brake light. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
It's really as simple as the link earlier in the thread. Pull the plug out and splice into the purple and white wire. Theres also an all black wire for ground.
I just installed my flasher in the rear cargo compartment, splicing into the purple-with-white-stripe wire just before the harness exits the rear wall of the cargo area.
I decided to mount it in the back (versus at the BCM) because I have the rear taken apart to add sound deadening and the install of the 2LT/3LT Bose rear subwoofer in my 1LT.

Tell me more about the sub woofer. Part# and what it took to install please.

Is that easily accessible by simply removing the rear end plastic trim piece? (I have a 2LT). Also, where you did grab ground?

Yes, just remove the back trim panel.
I connected the ground wire right to the battery.
Make sure you tap into the purple-with-white-stripe wire, not the purple-with-grey-stripe wire.

I’m a big fan of the flasher and have used it on several other cars. The module I’m using has a positive and negative in (source) and out (third tail light). To clarify for me: Cut ONLY the purple/white stripe wire, connect the positive module in/source wire to the source end of the cut wire. Connect the positive module out wire to the purple/white stripe third tail light wire. Connect the module in/source ground wire to ground and connect the Module out/tail light ground wire to ground.
My module has 3 wires that need to be connected. (The extra 2 white wires coming from the module are for optional feature programming (flash rate....)
Red (+12V in) goes to the cut end of the Purple/white wire that runs forward to the +12V source (the BCM).
Yellow (Flasher output) goes to the cut end of the Purple/white wire that runs out the large round black grommet, rearwards, which goes to the third brakelight.
Black (ground) connects to ground, at the battery negative post (I put the wire under the small nut/existing wire on the top of the post.)

Which third brake flasher is best ? Highest quality?
I finally found and install place that can fo it. I just want to buy the best unit
Ebay has this model. I have installed at least 10 of them over the past 15 yrs or so. They are easy to install and I have never had one fail. You can find them all over the internet from $2.49 to $39.95 “same unit” eBay, Amazon both have them. I just bought 4 from eBay for $9 directly from China. Took about 6 weeks. You pay more if you want them faster.

deprestidge,
Thanks for your good comments and posting this, looks like an excellent find!
So I understand splicing into the purple white with the red wire on the module.
But on the black wire of the module, do I need to splice into a ground wire, or can I simply attach either black wire coming out of the module to a ground?
And, how does this unit flash?
Does it flash 3 times then stay on? Or does it flash some other pattern?
Operation is 3 fast flashes followed by 3 slow flashes, then continuously on. Not sure if there is any sequence delay if you pump the brake the bake pedal, or if you are on and off the brake repeatedly in stop and go traffic jam traffic.
