I have used scotch guard on carpets, mats and other fabrics and it works Great. I know there is ragtopp and others out there that are good. However, I have several cans of scotch guard in the garage. Anyone use it on their top? Thanks

I haven't jt. I just stick with "Ragtop", etc. However, my Vette does stay in the garage. One that has to sit outside may need a bit more attention, but I don't know if it would be scotch guard, or something else.
Supposedly the top does not need any protectant. True or False?
I feel this is true.
I put over 200,000 miles on a Vert with a Grey-Beige (lighter than any C7) top before the first dark crease appeared and did not "seal" it. I have 83,000 miles on my C7 Kalahari top with no dark in the creases, yet.
I avoid cleaning my top (I do run it through touchless car washes), but when I do clean it, I use Tide and a very soft dedicated brush.
I also know this runs counter the accepted practice here, but what do I know?
i used 303 on my top when i bought it aug of 2016. it still beads water. I wash my car with mcGuires soap and wash the top with a soft cloth, but not every wash. I keep it garaged.
Edit: i always put the top up when i park it--except for this picture.

I have one and it is great. The programming has even been upgraded since it first came out. I had some issues at first but they worked with me and since it has functioned perfectly. Would not be without it.
One aspect I was not quite prepared for when I purchased my C7 Vert are all the conversations that pop up while stopped at a light, or parking, etc. People in nearby cars (and quite a few trucks) roll down their windows and start talking to me. People on the sidewalk come over to either compliment or ask questions.
All positive comments, but kind of caught me off guard the first time. Now it's kind of fun!
I i know what you mean- my corvette club does several parades each year and its fun to hear all the cool comments....this year my wife went with me for the first time...she told me to cut the radio up loud with Christmas music...she got aggravated at me when I told her no just hang on and she will learn why.....
She had a blast with people telling her how cool the car was and many comments about how good we looked in it ( I dont think shes gonna let me go alone again,,,lol !! )
I love my Vette !!
As a 2014 convertible owner, I have to say that the coupe has the more exotic looks against the "top up" vert. But, once that top comes down, ain't NOTHING as pretty or as classy as a C7 convertible...
I totally agreed when I first got mine.....but the more I see mine and other guys in the club with the top up the lines still look good !!! Only negative is that I had more storage space on my harley than in the vette trunk....lol !!
Which is an almost black, but yet still blue and metallic color. It looks black (or Carbon Flash) in shade, but is distinctly sparkly dark blue in sunlight.
Great color, last shot of mine after being totaled in Hurricane Harvey
Administrator savewave was kind enough to let us try a sub-section for Convertibles/Roadsters/Drop-tops or what ever you want to call them as a sticky for a month to see if their was enough traffic to justify it's existence.
My own experience has been frustrating trying to find info that applies to verts only and having to sift thru hundreds of posts trying to find a owner with a soft top car to chat with. Let's see if we can generate enough posts on here to make it permanent.
I've owned about twenty Vettes and only one was a coupe. When I was looking for my current '14 Z51 3LT M7 MRC roadster, I was flexible on the color but the manual roadster was the only car I considered.
Help me make this work!

Ordered July 18. Delivered Dec. 16.
2018 3LT GS vert.
BLK/BLK TOP/FULL LENGHT MATT BLK RACE STRIPES/SPICE RED INTERIOR.
My first Vette. I am loving it. Out about today. 68 degrees, top down. I feel bad for all the owners that have to keep their cars in hibernation all winter.

Reason: Add on
I'm going to ask what may be a stupid question, when and why are you towing the car like that?
Was this after the "total" was determined? If so, then you don't care, but for all the rest of the folks, don't ever Dolly tow it!
It was after insurance company declared it a total loss. Car had several inches of water in it and electronics were fried. Even at that it was heartbreaking to see her drug off in such an unbefitting manner. I had ordered and picked her up at the museum and then drove back to TX with my Dad who was 82 at the time.

That must be one of the greatest memories to have Jake.

It is, tremendous experience doing that with my Dad. His Dad had worked for Fisher Body then later General Motors for many years in St Louis so he had a strong connection to the factory tour etc.
