I've used my FOB several times to raise and lower the top without any issues. Might be worth a trip to the dealer to see why yours is not working. Good luck.

On my roadster, I have to hold the button down for a few seconds to get it to activate and continue holding it down through the whole process of the top going down or it will stop. First thing it does is lower the windows if they are up when you first push the button on the fob. Don't know if a weak battery will open the doors but not lower and raise the top or not.

You must have an after market product installed if you are raising your top with the fob.

Actually it is the FOB that came with my Vette. I'm also suppose to be able to remote start the car with it but I haven't yet mastered that function.

Although I have "mastered" both Top Operation and Remote Start with my FOB, I prefer to use the switch in the vehicle to operate the top..... certainly using the FOB to operate it is a great "Battery Tester" for the FOB... if it requires you to press/hold it multiple times it indicates your battery just might needs changing..... and that use probably lowers the life expectancy of it quite a bit as well, battery-wise.

I also find it curious that they put "Hold" under the trunk icon but not under the top icon.... the one that REALLY requires a long/constant hold for operation... just saying!!

On the engineering thought side, I would vote for an "auto" top operation..... one press and the cycle is completed..... detection of course if something interfered with operation.... like our windows or garage door opener..... not beyond doing safely and easily by GM engineers....smile....LK

Just one additional note on the Smarttop (Mods4Cars). Along with the ability to raise and lower the top with the Fob, this mod also can change the operation of the interior button to make it just one-touch up or down rather than needing to hold it. Pretty cool! [PS: I'm not associated with these guys, but this is just the best mod yet for a vert! ]

Did you buy your car used?

The reason I'm asking all these questions is because the car did not come from the factory capable of raising the top remotely. If you bought it used, then that would explain why you can raise it remotely; the previous owner installed a SmarTop.

Just trying to get to the bottom of it, so that someone perusing this thread in the future won't think their car is broken if they can't put the top up remotely.

Yeah, my top doesn't raise either. Neither did my last C7.

Yeh... but it looks like they apply the usual "Corvette Tax" as it is pretty costly especially vs. other cars.... although it MAY offer more functions on C7 version!!??.....just saying....smile....LK

$439....

vs.$329 for Volvo.....

Yeah, I might wait a while on this. It really doesn't bother me to hold the button.

Gary, we only visit during the fall and winter when you can rent a condo for peanuts, and the pace is much slower. Like you we have thought of buying here, but the summer crowds, the heat and humidity, along with the quite high taxes, association fees, and flood insurance just doesn't make it that attractive. We just 3 1/2 hours away, so it an easy run.

I would not count on that suggestion. I would bet it is a safety issue.
