The reason I'm asking all these questions is because the car did not come from the factory capable of raising the top remotely. If you bought it used, then that would explain why you can raise it remotely; the previous owner installed a SmarTop.
Just trying to get to the bottom of it, so that someone perusing this thread in the future won't think their car is broken if they can't put the top up remotely.
my car is a 2017 GS Collector's Edition which came with 3LT package and was purchased less than 2 months ago. I'm wondering if this is t a change made by Chevrolet from possibly earlier years. In reading back through the thread, I see other owners are also able to use their FOB to raise and lower the top. Not sure if it's dependent on the year or the package but it does seem strange that some of us can while others cannot.

I hope some others with the same year and model please chime in. I don't see how the same button would do two separate operations. Door locks need 2 buttons. Trunk only needs one as it only unlocks the hatch. Also GM would find putting the top up remotely a major safety issue and probably took their lawyers advice on this.

The question is RAISING the top with the FOB....
All C7 convertibles can put the top DOWN with the FOB. I have never seen one, from the factory, that will RAISE the top with the FOB.

As a first time owner of a C7 for three weeks, I thought I read the manual and operated the top properly and was just about ready to go uncover the car and see if I could get the top to go up.

don't leave your top down overnight. It MAY wrinkle.
My '17. Grey to accentuate the top. Black body to blend in the vents and scoops. Chrome wheels because I like the bling. Yes, please, anything dedicated to convertibles on the forum I'm down with. I would never buy a coupe. Picture next post below.

I'm all in. 2016 LBR black badges, wheels and interior Hardly any place like Central Florida to drive a Vert on a daily basis. So many beaches, single lane roads winding through lots of trees and still a few orange groves actually.
Administrator savewave was kind enough to let us try a sub-section for Convertibles/Roadsters/Drop-tops or what ever you want to call them as a sticky for a month to see if their was enough traffic to justify it's existence.
My own experience has been frustrating trying to find info that applies to verts only and having to sift thru hundreds of posts trying to find a owner with a soft top car to chat with. Let's see if we can generate enough posts on here to make it permanent.
I've owned about twenty Vettes and only one was a coupe. When I was looking for my current '14 Z51 3LT M7 MRC roadster, I was flexible on the color but the manual roadster was the only car I considered.
Help me make this work!

Thanks, I have thought the same thing for many years, as convertible Corvette is all I will ever own. It has its own unique issues. I will look here first, again thanks.

The last thing I worry about is wrinkles in my convertible top. Owned a 67 for 15 years, in the summer the top would be down for days/weeks and it would be hard to latch it but a little while in the sun and it would stretch out. The only wrinkles I worry about is when I see my wife's butt.
