Last year I took a 8000 mile, 41 day trip in my 2017 convertible. I had a golf bag (small carry bag), cleaning supplies in a small pail and 2 soft luggage bags in the trunk. I had a small soft bag and my laptop on the passenger seat but could have fit one on the shelf behind the passenger seat. Have fun!
Preparing for a month-long road trip to Ron Fellows, Las Vegas, and up the California coast. Looking forward to taking photos with the top down, when possible. Not sure we have learned to pack for that long with the ability to still put the top down, but I'm sure there will be chances. Did a month long trip out east last fall in a coupe and had no problems. Any long road trip tips in a Vert?
Maizey, we have taken quite a few long road trips in our Corvettes verts. It's like a game of Tetris with a convertible, but it can be easily down. There's absolutely no better way to go. Enjoy, and post some pictures upon your return.

For starters, nice color. Where there's a will.... I've done several long trips from Michigan and Washington State is coming up this summer. Here is a picture of me on my trip to Florida. Packed are two bows, two rifles, fishing gear and 10 rods, plus scuba gear. I brought home a cooler full of fish and four coolers full of wild boar meat that I harvested in Florida.
When the idea of a sub-section for convertibles was first brought up, I was thinking it should be a true sub-section like the ZR1, Z06, Tech, etc. There is even a section for Nitrous on here. To have a single thread and just call it a sub section kind of depletes the usefulness. Posting questions or comments unique to the convertible without being able to dedicate a thread to the particular topic is not real helpful to the poster when they are all mixed in with everything else.
Now, if they were to give us a real sub forum within the C7 forum it would be well used and very useful. It would get a lot of clicks without taking away from the clicks in other sections, and isn't that what a for-profit web site is after?
Well you C7 Convertible owners have probably done this at least once but it was a scary moment for me. I started putting the top on my 2014 up and had pushed the visor on the drivers side all the way forward to block some of the wind as it was a very blustery day. The top came down on the upright visor and when I saw the top get hung up, I panicked and tried to manual lift it so I could put the visor down, NOT! Finally I held the top button in the up mode and was able to free the visor. My take away from this was how much down force there was from the top closing. I don’t think any damage was done to the top open/close mechanism as near as I can see.
Also, I agree with a separate convertible sticky. The only reason I was able to find and make this post was due to the fact I had it bookmarked in google.

So who do we need to get in contact with to add this as a section under C7? I think we have the numbers to back it up... I am sure we have more convertibles than people have put nitrous on...
I almost never wash with water but I ran in to an occasion last year where car was muddy and I didnt have time to wash it slowly by hand so reluctantly ran it through a high pressure touch free car wash. Didnt leak a drop so there no way it going to rain in.
Careful with that I did a touchless car wash once and it did leak. I have done quarter car washes with no problem. When I bucket wash in my driveway I spray off what I can with my power washer too.

Can you pick out the coupe below?
That was a trick question, the " '68" is titled as a '74 coupe as that is where the bird cage and thus the VIN tag came from.

Team Convertible.. I Messaged the Admins and got an answer back on the convertible subsection...
I comes down to clicks and posts in the sections.. The Convertible sections get about 2 posts a day since inception... just not enough to have our own subsection under C7 but enough to have a sticky for all of us.. clicks = income so the more they get the longer this forum can stay around and I am ok with that..
They consolidated a sticky for all the convertibles in the general sticky section..
On a side note, I messaged them back as the new link sends you to the very beginning of the thread every time and not the last post read... hopefully they can get it fixed soon, I will let you know ASAP when I have some info

Although this is my first vert, this is the 6th Corvette I've owned over the years....this is a 2014 Z51 2LT 7M I recently purchased out of Atlanta with 3850 original 1 owner miles. Previous Vette was a 2011 GS black on black 3LT 6M....first was a 1993 Anniversary coupe...the only automatic Vette I've owned. This C7 convertible seems to be an amazingly good car....solid, superb handling, etc....I really enjoyed my Grand Sport and resisted the C7's for as long as I could, but this C7 is a major step up, and probably the best car I've owned...out of 40+ different cars over the years. Kudos to GM for building such a great Corvette...the evolution has been so positive thus far...now if they'll only build an evolved SS once again...my wife's 2014 SS is her favorite car ever!!!
