Hell no. Unless I was eating or drinking on a patio with the car in full view at all times. I didn't even like leaving with the top UP.

I do it as long as I’m in a good area and the car isn’t too far out of site. I also have a 3LT package and it comes with an interior motion detection system that sets the alarm off if someone reaches inside he car. Pretty cool.

At my golf club which is inside a gated community...last year at the Classic Race car races in Savannah inside the Corvette Corral...maybe one other time at a public parking lot...but I probably was watching it through a window...so, basically ..NO...and that motion alarm has scared me several times....love it/hate it

I've left the top down on all my dozen or more convertibles unattended in relatively safe public locations for years. My Shelby Cobra didn't even have a top. I do the same with my C7.

I've never had a problem, but I do choose my locations carefully when I do so. An open convertible suggests the owner won't be gone for long or has eyeballs on the car, so they don't tend to get messed with.

I may if I'm on a patio or something and have a clear line of sight and no obstacles keeping me from getting to it in a hurry if someone startes messing with it.
Other than that, NO!

I use discretion but for the most part I leave the top off, windows up and locked when away from the car. There's basically nothing in the car to steal because it's not my daily. And if someone wants to vandalize the car, they can do that whether the top is on or off. I also leave the top off at home while garaged. Come to think of it, I pretty much only put the top on when washing or away overnight.

It will also go off if someone tosses a half empty milkshake into the interior.

Ditto on the "hell no".Always a concern while at the store/whatever, some jerk will toss in a cup full of whatever or worse a lit cig.

Very good point about they think you're close by.
