Shift action benefits from proper alignment (many are not quite right), and quality aftermarket synthetic fluid in the trans. Some folks swear the oe fluid is great; nope. The trans is a great unit and some good redline or Amsoil makes an immediate, noticeable difference; true for at least the last 3 gens.

There are many options for aftermarket shifter/***** as well of course.

I noticed a difference when I switched from OE to Mobil 1. However I also changed my driving style, so not sure which helped more. My wife never complained so it might just be me. However she doesn't do the sit-in-neutral routine at a traffic light like me (lazy habit). She stops and puts in the car in first and keeps the clutch in so she is ready to go.

Folks

Just drove one for the 1st time and really liked it, it was an auto and drove mainly in touring and sports mode and exhaust sound is awesome and car is very smooth in these modes except for track mode where it stiffens up as expected.

Although didn't push much is there a rev limiter during break in and found it little tough to push it past 4k rpm , front visibility is awesome due to the sides being lifted up a bit easy to gauge the side although there is some blind spot for the nose which I will get used to it

Secondly the car was making some weird bumpy ride when I was turning it left or right in the parking spot never felt any issues otherwise during the test run.

overall pretty impressed and it doesn't look so big as in the pictures , seats are comfortable too

Now I need to find a manual and pull the plug

I learnt a lot from you guys and half the questions I asked the saleswoman was not aware 😀.

The cars rev limit for the first 500 miles. They also limit during cold starts. At least the M7s do.

What you felt in the parking lot is probably the tires hopping during sharp turns because they're so wide. Perfectly normal.

thanks, when I turned it left or right in parking lot it felt as if they were flat the rear tires , that's normal? Then during test drive it was normal.

Unless the car was equipped with MSRC, the stiffing you felt was the steering in Track mode. This steering stiffness can be adjusted independently of the mode selector.

The tire hop is the result of a combination of engineering decisions and is considered 'normal'; thus, it is also covered in the user manual. If you are interested in more details, it's available in the Tire Hope Making Me Nuts thread.

I've daily driven C4, C5, C6 and C7 Vettes, the C7 is definitely best of them all as a daily driver (although the C6 wasn't bad either). I had a period where I had other cars for daily drivers (when I started modding my C6), but even with my current weekend Vette (91 ZR-1 with 391 cubic inch, 600+HP LT5), I really missed having a Vette as a daily, so got a 2015 last fall (M7, Z51, Mag ride, 3LT). The C7 is definitely great as a DD, heated/cooled seats (2LT or above), great infotainment system (even without the Carply/AndroidAuto that started in 16), plenty of customization (variable steering effort, exhaust mode, suspension (if you have mag ride)), and it gets decent gas mileage (way better than the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT I was using as a daily previously). Good cargo space for groceries or typical shopping trips.

As for cleaning, I would agree with what a few others have said: have paint correction and ceramic coating applied, then clear clearbra on the front bumper cover and mirrors. Ceramic coating is, in my opinion, even more useful for daily drivers than for weekend cars. I've gone for over a month without washing the car, and it still looks good (part of that is being red, not black). For the clearbra, you really only need the front bumper cover and mirrors, that's where 90%+ of any impacts/bugs/etc are going to hit. If you've got the money, feel free to do more (whole hood, fenders, etc), but it's a much lower need in those areas.

It's a fantastic daily driver. I DD(5 miles) my Z51 M7 coupe unless weather is really bad then I carpool with the wifey(X3). Just hit 11500 miles after a year or so of.ownership.

Use it for groceries, gym, errands, etc. The trunk can fit a lot more than you think. The stock ride height is more than sufficient. I never scrape except in a specific sharp decline near my home. I switched to All-Seasons for better grip in the colder months making it an even better DD.

I have the 1LT without front/curb cameras and no heated seats. The cameras could in some situations but I prefer to and mostly park facing out so the rear camera is more than sufficient when backing into a space. The cabin gets very hot without heated seats and people say they are not that effective.

Definitely recommend getting a clear bra on the front half of the car.

Also checkout this long discussion on DDing https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c7-general-discussion/4217947-daily-drive-the-vette-or-get-a-2nd-car.html

Mine's been my DD for 2 years. I commute 5 days a week, and run errands on my way home from work, often. I have 9 horses, and often need to stop by the feed store and pile 4-5 50 lb sacks of feed in the back of my vette. Absolutely no problem. I hauled a 8x10 carpet from Lowes, have a huge rose garden and haul bags of fertilizer and mulch, and do a month's worth of grocery shopping. Basically everything I need to haul on a regular basis fits in the vette. I LOVE my DD!

Just got back driving a manual , wow what a car, clutch is light and transmission is nice with short throws. Overall impressed except for the fact that the wheel gaps are little ugly for a sports car, I measured the front clearance from ground and it sits higher than my M3. My M3 is lowered .good thing is it won't scrape , drove a 1LT stingray.

Sat higher then my stock Nissan 350Z too by about an 1/2”. Difference was mostly in the overhang, as the C7 has more bits forward of the wheel which decreases the approach angle. Those “fangs” on the bottom of the bumper stick out and a splitter makes it worse.

Folks
Forgot to ask that when i test drove the 7MT felt slight vibration in the shifter , is that normal considering car is low?

Big favor -- i know measurements are in website but not sure they are accurate and reliable , can someone please measure the width ( with and without mirrors) and length on the stingray base car. My garage is tight and want to ensure it fits fine.

Thanks
