Car is back together and was taken for a test drive today. Tech reports all looks good but wants to let it go through a couple more heat/cool cycles to make sure. If so, I get her back tomorrow.
(1 month to the day)
1 month , when you get back in to take it home it's going to feel like your getting a new car !!
Good luck !!!

Ken I wouldn't worry... beat the crap out of it and if it breaks you get a new crate engine on GM's dime. I had my 2001 Z06 re-ringed under warranty which is MAJOR surgery at a local dealer. Post re-ring the car used no oil (had been using a quart every 800 miles) and I beat the snot out of that car on track for years and put a big cam in it.
Glad you got it back 1 month that’s shorter than 6 weeks.
How is it running I had a glitch today went to pull out and nothing stop and retried it. It was okay wonder if my range device caused this??.
I like the no 4cyl operation it’s so much smoother.
You changing oil after 500 miles or sooner.

Haven't gotten it back yet but, barring any issues the tech discovers during his test drive(s), I should have it back in my grubby hands today.
As for the 500 mile change, good point. I'm going to press for that (under warranty of course).

I'll pick it up in a few hours as soon as I can pull away from something I'm working on (being self-employed does have its advantages )

GREAT, good luck. I just hope your mechanic is not the brother of the woman patient in your avatar

Just got back from a little shakedown and all seems good! No leaks, no funny smells (although at only 2,500 miles, that new car smell is back in my garage!). We leave early Friday morning for a 3 day cruise.
Interestingly, I swear it has a more noticeable cam lope at idle than it had before and idle is a little rougher. For grins, I'll have to check with the tech to see if somehow the cam is different!
