When that occurred, and after it was fixed, did you lose faith in the brand and move to the imports for several years before your 2014 C7?
I know that I've had a tendency to trade off when big repairs have been done on previous vehicles. I always want to move on.
..Maybe Ken will lose interest in this particular car and just buy a new one. Sometimes these cars are Jonahed, and ya gotta start over.
.. I'm somewhat at that point with my diesel coach (RV) - I just might want to move on. Although I have owned it since 2003 - only 101K miles.......so maybe it's time?
No, I didn't lose faith, I had a new engine, free of charge in 7-10 days, and all was flawless again.
I just got infatuated with a couple of hot German coupes, Audi RS4 and BMW M3, and then the new F-Type. That's when I dipped my toes into the DCT pool, and later ZF8 world thinking the paddles were the next great thing. They were great, but I ultimately got bored with the lost feeling of involvement, which is ironically what brought me back to Corvette because of the manual transmission.
It looks like Corvette's abandonment of manuals will be the thing sending me somewhere else again in the not too distant future.

Ken - sorry to hear about the engine problem, especially on such a low mileage car. Hope the dealer takes good care of you and gets the car back on the road quickly.

And here I've been concerned about bending/cracking a wheel!
Driving along at around 45 (in 5th), heard a pop and then a loud ticking noise. This happened about 2 miles from leaving home (fortunately?). Limped home and noticed car would madly ping if too much accelerator used. Time to call flatbed in the morning for trip to dealer.
I suspect it either dropped a valve, lost a lifter or a rocker...
Sorry to hear that! Hopefully since it limped home it will be fixed quickly!
Sorry to hear this. It happens with all makes though. I just bought a new MB E450 coupe for my wife and she drove it for a week before, out of the blue, it had a massive electrical failure with several computers and the ignition system frying themselves. We had it towed in and the dealer found another new on in CA with the exact same configuration and had it shipped to her. Wasn't totally out of their goodwill tho. It would've taken 6-8 weeks for just the parts and lemon law in AZ is 4 trips in for same problem or more than 30 cumulative days in the shop for the first two years of a new car. Suggest you check your state's lemon law just to be prepared. Good luck
Sorry to hear of the engine problems Ken. Hopefully the dealer will have you back on the road soon. Spring has sprung, and it's Corvette weather. Good luck
KEN,
Sorry this happened to ya! Hope all goes well with getting it fixed. Funny you mentioned being concerned about wheels, me too. Now you gave me other things to worry about
Good luck with the repair !!
Rich
I know these things happen and I'm sure it'll work out smoothly (my dealer has 2 certified 'vette techs, has for years and I have a VERY good relationship with them, going on 15+ years now)
Being Confident with your dealer is HUGE.Hopefully it's a quicky fix.

I believe Wentworth Chevrolet in Portland relocated to Wilsonville, and then became Wilsonville Chevrolet, right there on I-5.
I will be following this thread to see where it all ends up.
Best wishes!
Thanks! I'll certainly keep everyone posted as I find out things.
Wilsonville Chevy ended up with many folks from Miles Chevy (in Woodburn) when that dealership got Obamacided. 2 'vette techs and the SM moved over (all of whom I knew before Miles was closed down)

Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
