I’m on board (looks wise) for a C8 and thus far think it looks great. The no manual transmission kills it for me. I do remember when the new Silverado came out in 07/08 I absolutely hated it and thought it looked *** ugly, guess what? I still do lol. That style never grew on me. I was ok with the 14-18 however and the 19+ is hideous imho and will more than likely not grow on me. My point is (for me) usually I like something or I don’t, there is no growing on me. The new hd Denali did grow on me (contradiction) but is the only one thus far (white diesel swb). Gm did a great job on the C8 to me and I think it looks kick *** and stunning. It will date our C8’s fellas just as the C7’ Dated our C6’s but that does not make them bad, or lame cars. I love my C7Z but it’s days in the lime light are coming to an end and that is ok too. She will age gracefully and I’m damn sure gunna enjoy it until the time comes when the C8Z drops (more like a few years after it drops) and if I’m ready to take the plunge.

I'm sorry, but I agree with Jake. That's coming from a guy that's owed 2 C7s,
I would say that 80% of the trips I take in my C7 I get some sort of acknowledgement (e.g. thumbs up, "Nice car", "Badass"). The "Ugh, that thing's is so freakin' dated-looking!!" response, or anything negative, has yet to be encountered. So not I only do I not think it's dated, others don't either. Although I guess there's the possibility that I live in the most polite city ever...
Most importantly, I find that it is a blast to drive and is one of my favorites ever. If I didn't feel like that I wouldn't own it.
I wish you well in your rebuild endeavors, but here in Florida, most cars with rebuilt titles sell for at least 30% less and often 40% less, even Ferraris. Unfortunately, most sit on the market for very long periods of time, too.
I have been doing it for the past 8 years and I sell nation wide and never sold for under 20-25% and I have zero issues selling mine nor do mine sit for any more than 6 weeks. Keep in mind mine are usually higher trim and are near flawless. I do go through a lot of tire kickers and low ball offers but ultimately get my asking $.
Every car depreciates. Want to watch your value really tank? Buy a German car.
I checked the used market last night and cars comparable to mine were at an asking price of $41-$45K. So average of $43K. I bought mine a year ago for $47K and used it as my daily. Adding 12K miles and only dropping $4K miles? Seems pretty good.
