Oh yeah , and the oracles don't have the issues that the JW Motoring ones do with throwing codes !

Bite me. See, I didn't say anything about lights.

I only discuss personal experience. Say, Does S&H still print those cute green stamps? Maybe you can get something at a discount with them. I bet you're going to need to look that one up!

Be nice.

I went for a cruise tonight and lo and behold the issue arose on my car! I have a 19 Z06 so truthfully was expecting it to happen. Tomorrow I will be putting the chokes on my rear lamps to see if that will help. BTW mine are from JWM so this should tell if I am heading in the right direction or if the chokes will be successful.
Stay tuned!

I will be putting a choke on the left rear today. Will do them one at a time and test in between until all are done to see if there is an easy solution to this annoyance.

I tested this morning with nothing on the wires, turned on lights manually and after 10 to 13 miles at over 60 mph only the front right TPMS went out... As soon as I slowed down below 10 MPH the TPMS came back..

What does this prove...

1. It is speed and time dependent, going slow does not trigger the disconnect of the TPMS and 10 to 13 miles distance above 60 MPH does.
2. the front left TPMS did not update also but it did not disconnect.
3. both the rear TPMS continued to update and did not disconnect..

Tonight I will test only the marker lights on with no headlight and see what that does... We will figure this out

In my experience, marker lights on with no headlights leads to the same result.

Exactly how it went for me. If I went all freeway speed, I’d lose the RF always around the same time. And sometimes the LF would drop shortly after that, and that was usually right as I’d be getting off the freeway so perhaps if my commute was longer dropping the LF would have been just as consistent. No matter what, the rears always worked. Stop and go city speeds, my fronts were slow to update at times but they never completely dropped.

Not sure if I ever shared this picture in my own thread in the ZR1 section, but here’s what I tried with Farraday tape on the RF light. I encased the whole back housing of the light and put an extra strip inside the fender liner for good measure. This made zero difference. So I’m very surprised the HVAC foil tape made a change for the OP here.

Seeing as how Farraday tape is designed to block RF noise. But if foil tape got the job done, then that’s awesome. Not sure how. But that’s great. If I had more patience for trial and error I would have tried ferrite over the wires.

But after going in there three times (third time was to switch the front lights back to stock), the next time was going to be the last. So when I went to order the Oracles I emailed CCA tellling them the situation, and Chip emailed me back and said he knew all about that. The ones I got from SCP were Chinese sourced and the Oracles will not have that problem. So not to sound like a broken record, but if you haven’t bought lights already and don’t want to potentially go through this hassle, just get the Oracles. Unless you just cannot live with them not sitting perfectly flush or you feel that the slight extra cost for Oracle is not worth it for being brighter and having no TPMS hassle.

My Tech told me that at higher speeds the TPMS controller send outs and looks for return feedback more often.

Makes sense.... If you are puttering around at 35 MPH in stop and go you might not need to know your tire pressure as urgently as traveling 70+ MPH for extended periods of time. So again, at greater speeds, the TPMS controller is going to be more vigilant of monitoring and maintaining tire pressure levels.

So, the more it looks for feedback, the higher the probability that the intermittent interference will be present.

This morning I installed a ferrite bead choke on my left (drivers) rear wiring to the marker lamp. I drove about 30 miles with my lights manually turned on, most of it on highway and the TPMS worked without a fault. I had a fault when I started the car from last night's drive but it reset shortly after beginning to move.
Since I only did the left rear I very sure that is the one causing interference to the receiver module. I will be installing chokes on the other three connectors to the lamps for insurance sake.

This is the link for the set of ferrite chokes from Amazon, there are more than you will need but for $8 you can save the rest for other projects and it is much less expensive than buying them individually. The ones I used were the next to largest ones in the kit.

Thanks to Cowboy Casey for supplying the link!

And thanks to ElisTwoCents for reminding me about the chokes!

So there you have it folks, a probable solution to the TPMS issue. Hope this will work for everyone!

Thank you for trying this out and reporting back!

I hope this continues to work for you and for everyone else.

I am surprised you used the next to largest ones. My recollection is the wires are not that big. Buying multiple sizes in one kit is a great idea.

The wires are quite small but there is a wire loom over them fairly close to the connector plug so I just used a larger size.
