I have been involved with corvettes from a very early age when my brother had several corvettes. I was taught by him that corvette people are a very proud group and to always respect each other. One of the ways was a simple wave of the hand at another corvette owner. What happen? Is it the new generation? Scared someone might consider it a threat with all the road rage and shootings on the roads. I do not know but i do know that I will keep on waving in hopes of getting a simple wave back. I do this to show my respect to you and your beautiful corvette.
Didn't know about the wave when I had my first vette, but learned quickly. it adds to the experience of ownership. I'd say the wave back percentage is probably around 80-90% around here.

Lol, don't be so insecure. It's just a wave, dude.
I usually get a return wave from fellow Corvette drivers. If I don't, I figure they are busy keeping their eyes on the road. Hopefully they are not texting though. Please don't give up. Save the wave.

I wave at everybody, everywhere. Its a habit I picked up from living in a backwoods small town Live Oak Fl. Where everybody knows everybody. My uncle Charlie would always wave and very friendly no matter who or where. He was a very outgoing and likable character. Lived there his whole life I think. I find that most people will wave back if you wave first, you just have to initiate. If they don't well, keep trying. I like to believe Everyone has a tipping point for human compassion and empathy. It may not be true but in my heart I always look for the best in people and usually... you can find it there. Our outlook and expectations can often be the winning difference between mean dogs and friendly dogs.
I wave and I return waves. Though I don't get many returns from the C8 people. Probably their first Corvette. Anyway, here in Lake Havasu, AZ Corvettes are a dime a dozen and all owners seem to be in wave mode.

I wave whenever I can to other Corvette owners, but I too have noticed a decrease in the number of other owners that wave. Who knows what the reason for not waving may be, but I’ll continue to do my part

I wave and usually don’t look to see if they wave back. As many Corvettes as there actually are, I generally won’t see more than one or two on a country ride if I’m out for a few hours. Sometimes none at all.
It was a completely different thing with my wife’s jeep. Every freaking third vehicle around here seems to be a jeep and they ALL wave. In that case I chose to be a curmudgeon and ignore those waves. 😜
Hmm. Don't confuse 'best' with 'good'. I think somebody's best isn't always good. But if you get the best of them... sometimes there will be traumatism to your positive reaction. Its like shock therapy. The brain is electrical and thoughts are as fields, our impressions and observations have far reaching consequences beyond what the conscious mind is able to perceive. Before words communicated ideas and thoughts it was done with facial expressions and animal body language. And I've found with many interactions that is all you need to get the best.
