I daily drive my Corvette and there are a ton of them down here in South Florida. I pretty much never wave and certainly don't initiate the wave. I think the whole wave thing is ridiculous. It might be cool for those of you who drive your Corvette's on the weekend and there are not a lot around. But when you daily drive one in an area where there are always a couple on the road, it becomes a chore. The only time I wave is when I run across another Z06 that is modified and sounds good like my car. Sort of a mutual respect on another level. Otherwise, I'm not concerned with the wave.
You're a real work of art... Constipation problem?
I get a chuckle out of the people that get on their high horse and judge those that try to keep a long-time tradition going. It must be exhausting trying to be so cool and edgy.
Quite the opposite actually. We "non-wavers" could not care less whether you wave or not. But some of you are bothered by the fact you don't always get a wave back.

There's NO reason for anyone to wave.
This obligatory "brand wave" is just nutty to expect.
SIDE STORY:
20 years ago I bought a premier, pricey, almost new RV. As I learned in the subsequent months going forward it was a brand where the manufacturer of it was not standing behind their product. I was so upset in trying to get the manufacturer to warrant their poor workmanship, that I was fit to be tied after spending nearly $100K on their shoddy product. Most owners of this brand were Kool Aid drinkers.
One afternoon I was on a two-lane US highway in Southwest Alabama, when an oncoming same-brand rig was headed the opposite direction. I see this guy driving flailing his arms waving frantically, as if he found a long lost brother. I was quite on edge for months after buying their poor product, and I instinctively gave the single finger salute to this koolaid drinker at 60 mph. I assumed it was a factory employee driving back to Iowa from a Florida RV trade show. I hope my directive was relayed to the obstinate owner of the firm back at headquarters in Iowa.
I don't go out of my way to wave but if someone waves at me I'll wave back. IDK, I don't wave at other GMC Terrains when I'm in mine and pass them LOL. I'm not like "oh F you, you're random" I just don't think to do it, nothing malicious.
I wave and I return waves. Though I don't get many returns from the C8 people. Probably their first Corvette. Anyway, here in Lake Havasu, AZ Corvettes are a dime a dozen and all owners seem to be in wave mode.
I am new to the Corvette world. I got my C8 HTC Z51 in Oct 2020 and loved the platform so much ( a lot of reading about development and history) and missed the standard shift (sold a 2010 370Z roadster) I bought my C7 M7 Z51 in Sep 2021.
I come from the 2 wheeler crowd and the wave is a great expression of the comradery and shared interest we shared so I found out that the Corvette folks generally wave too, so I always wave to other Corvettes and generally get a wave back sometimes I get a headlight flash to recognise the offered wave if the other corvette is all closed up and has tinted windows!

You sound like Scrooge around Christmas time---Never hurts to be friendly.
Regarding your side story-one day you will give the finger to the wrong person if you haven't already.
It wasn't new to me as I also own a Harley and so the motorcycle wave is engrained into me, found it awesome the Corvette wave is a thing as well. Have noticed some folks return it or don't do it at all. I don't assume the worst, I think they are keeping an eye on the road or didn't see me, but most folks do wave that I have run across.
I personally like to play a quick game of Paper, Rock, scissors with other Corvette owners.. the wave is old school and it's time to take it to the next level

For a guy that doesn't care about a dumb wave, you sure are investing a lot of time in a thread about a dumb wave.
I always thought when I rode motorcyles it was cool that we acknowledged eachother with a wave. I have had a few Corvettes over the years and always waved. It's kind of like me being in our Corvette Club. We all admire the other folks Corvettes. So when I see another Vette on the road, the wave fro me is like saying "nice car". It like a neat car culture. By the way if they don't wave back. I don't care. I will just continue to do the wave.
Having been on bikes for years, then a RHD Wrangler for my job (I hate the thing), now the Corvette wave. A bit burned out. I'll wave back if I see someone initiate it just to be friendly.
i've got my 3rd jeep wrangler, my 3rd harley and my 4th vette. i've been waving for years and will continue. never see a vette pass a stranded vette on the side of the road, same with jeeps and harleys
