Yes The screws aren't a good idea as the base might crack, show use a pic of the front bolt but on side...maybe my best way to install the front bolt is to remove the wheel cover or use 3m tape or silicone
Theta...any more progress on this install? A shop is also working the same on my vehicle and have been leveraging your thread to assist. How do you intend to access the drain plug and dump contents without having it drip down the engine bay? Shop is recommending we remove the drain plug, install and route a gravity fed tube terminating to valve down through the engine compartment to ease access and draining (which I think is a great idea and actually am a bit surprised this is something LMR didnt incorporate as part of the design).
Also have the Jeg parts...about the only aspect of your installation I think we are not emulating is powdercoating...the original finish is pretty good.
Install was finished months ago - I'd send you the pics you're asking for, but I don't have the car here.
This should help immensely, though. Scroll down for the illustrated picture I just made for you.
One large hose goes to the driver valley cover, the other large hose to the passenger valley cover.
One of the smaller hoses runs behind the engine to the T-splitter going to the valley cover barb and the oil tank. The other runs to the lower fitting under the intake manifold. The top barb goes to the BOV in a supercharged application, and mine is T'ed off to also run to a boost gauge.
No problem - tried to make it as clean as possible with the very different colors, but it's a mess no matter what.
Should give you a good idea combined with the other pics on what goes where. Standard vacuum cap will fit on the other oil nozzle tightly (used one from a 'Vacutite' $2.99 value pack from AutoZone).
Drain was left as-is - my way of thinking is just to put a piece of Tupperware down there when opening the valve - I didn't want to run more lines for something that needed to be done so infrequently.
How does the "yellow"hose connect to the factory oil hoses?what connectors do we need?i know we can connect it direct to the oil tank without closing the inlet with the red cap
Thanks for the all the info! Just so everyone knows, I hit the guys up at LMR to do the lines in stainless steel and the red and blue anodized finish and they were more than happy to make it happen at no extra charge. I'll post pictures when I get everything together.
Rise from the dead! $650 and I still need to measure and cut everything and install the AN fittings on my own... Lmao! Come on, LMR. Lmao!
No, thats not accurate. There are two "releases" of the can. The first one, yes, all that is required. The second release which they now sell as the only one available is plug and play. I have one and love it.
Hey guys can anyone give me a diagram or share your knowledge for routing the hoses for a LMR catch can on a 2015 stingray with a LT4 blower? Having a problem getting the proper info . No dry sump obviously. Thanks in advance
