Good news! I went to FSP today to see if we could figure out what was going on with my car and I think we finally figured it out! It looks like the issue was a bad spark plug wire, not actually a bad plug as we previously thought. I didn't get to the track today so will have to go up in a few weeks and see how she fairs. I got on it a few times on the ride home and so far she is driving good!
So as it would turn out my car ran great the way home. The next weekend I took it out and of couse as my luck would have it the issue returned. So it seems it may not have been a bad plug or wire. Another thing I have done as a quick test was drop back to a single nozzle meth (without redoing the tune) just to take it out and test with to try and confirm if it was drowning in meth, however its still happening oddly enough, so still doesn't seen meth related.
We are kind of at a loss as to what the issue could be and can't figure out why it runs great temporarily after changing ignition components around just for me to get it home and it all goes to crap again. When the issue happens, the tone of the engine changes when I get to a certain load / boost level / WOT level and sounds like its gurgling almost. Almost like how it sounds when you are in Eco mode. It was suggested that it could be a cracked or broken valve spring but after doing some reading on that issue and its symptoms specifically, I don't think thats it either. My car seems to run fine normally, and only really acts up at WOT./hard load around 4K RPM and higher.
Anyone have any other thoughts as to what this could be??
Broken valve spring seems plausible. An exhaust valve spring.
Maybe get FSP to do some data logging on it at high rpm to see if there's fuel or knock issues?
I agree it seems plausable, but everyone else that has posted about broken valve springs says the car immediately runs awful, throws codes, then basically the car dies. My car still seems to drive fine and I can still get on it out of boost and it acts ok. We have done logging with it while I was there at FSP, after swapping out the plug wire that we thought was the issue and the car ran fine for me to take it for a test spin. Fueling and spark showed no issues.
Aren't they dual springs? Could just be the inner or outter Spring? Not the whole spring just yet.
It's worth a look.

I know you have been busy with a lot of stuff fyreant, but where you able to get some IAT readings on the high RPM's, knock readings and an MPH on the 1/4 mile? Some simple stuff to check with a logger and a visit to track.
Having said that, if you think a spring is bad, check that first (no point in doing an high RPM run and having a spring break and drop a valve)
You said before you replaced a plug wire not plugs. I'd start with easy stuff first. Replace all your plugs and gap them correctly.
Been thinking about doing all the plugs and the wires to be on the safe side.

I dont have the tools to log IAT, only my tuner does. I'd have to check with hik on what the IATs were during the runs. Have not had it to the track yet.

You get your wideband hooked up?? Go look at wot afr
Going to do just that. Yes got the WB installed. I'll take it out later tonight and record a WOT run. Have to get the second meth nozzle hooked back up first though since I am tuned for both nozzles.

Ha ha ha I bite my nails every time I read responses to this thread myself in fear of what people may say the issue is next! It's always great to be able to ping thoughts and ideas off of those who have already experimented with some of these types of set ups.
