While I'm quite sad to hear of your misfortune, the positive attitude you have towards this recent issue is quite uplifting for the forum. I keep seeing people complain about the smallest damn thing about these cars due to how much they cost and on and on...
So major props to you on being on the correct side of the coin, and wish a speedy (ha) recovery for your Z07!
As a C6Z owner who just had his heads replaced due to the well documented forum rants about valve issues, I hope the C7Z is not becoming a problem child! Keep the faith and may the car be back on the road ASAP!
But you wouldn't have that issue since you won't buy one.
With all of the problems about this car popping up nearly single day on here it's impossible to intelligently blame anyone for keeping their current vette instead, but if anyone was going to try it might as well be you
You guys buying are much braver than I. I decided months ago to pass on this car given all the troubles, and the fact I just can't stand GM. And still have not warmed to the tansformer styling. I'm sure they'll sell plenty of them, just not to me.
I wonder what the common factor is that all 4 of these Z06s engines on the forum that went bad had less than 1000 miles on them. That is very unusual.
Seems to me that have all been Z07 builds.
As in a human help build the motor.
I wonder if they all have the same human in common.
Or same torque wrench at the same station or ???

They made 8400 z06 in 2015. Four or five failures is incredible success rate.

Yes years from now that would be an amazing success rate. 8400 cars that are typically not DD or high mileage/high use that in it's first year is not very good.
I would venture that majority of those 8400 cars have less than 5,000 miles on them based on past Corvette/Z06 mileage trends. Coupled with the other problems the engines are having when pushed hard I would say your thumbs up might be premature.

2015 C7 Z06 fully loaded Z07 pkg. a little over 300miles very easy miles. Bone Stock.
I still don't have info on what went wrong. Car died on me in 4th gear. didn't notice any weird noises or anything before this happened. tried to start the car again and it wont turn. tried again wont turn, tried one last time and it turned very hard and slow with loud noises coming from the engine and it didn't start and seized up. Tow truck on the way.
I know for sure its engine related from the noise. Great oil level, oil pressure was fine not sure exactly when it died, but at idle and when I drove the car 30min before this happened it was good. Water temp was good too. couldn't get a water temp reading after the incident for some reason the gauge doesn't show it (maybe the car has to be running??)
This is a great car. can't beat the performance for the price. I love it. so no I am not making this up. frustrated for sure, but even if the engine is toast, I am fine **** happens and its a new car! the count is what 3 engines I believe here in the forum?? I don't think thats a lot statistically. I might be wrong. in any case, I am keeping the car no matter what the dealer tells me. I am in love with this car and have owned 8 vettes before this one.
hopefully though they fix it fast and it doesn't take a lot of down time.
Will update later. Thanks
