really?? please provide your source of info, I'm most interested...
Owners are compiling the info. At this time it was 2014. I think one or two more failed this year? Doesnt mean Vipers are crap, just that this happens. There will always be a failure rate, just some more than others depending on what car.

I agree. I don't think either vette or viper is crap. I just want to see this list of twenty something because the last time a list was done on VOA was four if I remember correctly.
Sorry to hear that. Sounds like you are in good spirits considering the bad news. Great way to look at things. Curious, do you know how many of the failures were Z07s?
Thank you all for the great comments. car is at the dealer, didn't get it in yet as I didn't have time to drop the keys. I will go talk to them and get the key over tomorrow morning. I am not new to cars, I know 99.99% its the motor, but I really hope I am wrong lol. I def don't want to go through the trouble. in any case we will find out soon!!
I am deeply sorry to hear about your engine experience with your Corvette and can definitely understand any disappointment you might have.
We certainly want to look into this, offer additional support while you are at the dealership and help ensure the quickest repair time. Please send us a private message along with your contact information, VIN, mileage and involved dealership.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Kindly,
Kaylee D.
Chevrolet Customer Care
Wow Kaylee,
it is nice to know that Chevrolet Customer Care is on top of things and are available and checking the forum. Good job!! I will send a PM over here in a bit. I have been really busy and didn't get a chance to respond here.
I am not worried about getting it fixed. I just hope it doesn't take too long. I am sure they will take care of me. its a brand new car!!
Maxima? What Maxima?? LOL I think your friend needs to wake up
It's a brand new car that you modded for drags, right? I read your post history and you clearly have messed with it. Drag radials, broken axles that you wanted to replace with C5 axles. Modded ARH 2 inch Exhaust headers/ pulley/ cai. Ported heads? Like AlaskaSS and NorcalSS, all three of you guys modded your cars for drags then when the engines let go you want help from Chevrolet. Then you try to sell it and in your info you call it bone stock. All three of you were in a state of denial on what you did to your cars. Modding a ZO6 for drags? it's a sports car designed for road courses. And your Thread topic is "Another One Down". Amazing !!!!

His first sentence is...
"2015 C7 Z06 fully loaded Z07 pkg. a little over 300miles very easy miles. Bone Stock."

Hi Detective. You failed to read my other thread was about my 2014 c7 (i even clearly said if a c7 Z06 axle will work on it and consider an upgrade or not). Not this C7 Z06. I own more than one corvette Mr.
Do you really think i am stupid like you? If i modded the car, i wouldnt blam GM for it. I will just fix it Myself. And i wouldnt post about it on the forum that way the skilled forum detectives cant figure it out like yourself. Assuming i was really hiding something.

skank, your post piqued my interest so I too looked at the OP's post history... The OP car has 300 miles...looks like a different one (new) than his 500+ mile one you were talking about from January.
In your sleuthing, did you notice that the broken axle was on a C7, not C7 Z06? Or that the Z06 in the OP is NOT the Z06 related to ARH headers (see mileage and dates)? Looks to me like he was selling his first Z06 in late January with over 500 miles on it and selling some parts he got for it in Feb/March. Ported heads were for an LT1...not LT4.
The OP seems to like his toys, and admits it in his posts. Maybe too many to keep track of, and you jumped the gun on the accusation? If it went down as you describe, calling out may be in order, but it seems to me you jumped to the wrong conclusion.
There's no post history to indicate the OP car is anything other than the OP says. Wishing the OP's car a full recovery as the other posters have.

Let's say this is true for a minute, so what? An engine blows from a few passes down a track? If this was the case it would be TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!! these are sports cars, and a pass down a track is less abusive on a car then a road course where your constantly in the power band for long periods of time. If anything GM would be thankful for these failures as it gives the engineers real world data to see what failed and why.

Thank you. You Sir can read!!!
And thanks for Pointing out that the heads are for LT1 not LT4 (maybe he doesnt know the difference?). The headers are the same for both C7s and C7Z also.

I'm curious to see what this engine failure count will be in a year once they have been out and people are putting lots of miles on them. Personally I'm kind of holding my breath as I have my name in for one and will probably get a 2016. I'm worried about Gm's decision with the smaller supercharger and the fact they are running these cars right on the edge like an Indy car. They have a rock of emmisions standards on one side, and a hard place of customers wanting more power on the other. I'm hoping these are not fragile engines that are going to be a major problem in the future. Maybe there is a lot of pressure on the engine building techs to build too many engines within a certain time frame because of the high demand, and thus build quality is suffering. Hmm.
